Polycarbonate Resin
Features
Iupilon and Novarex can be used within a temperature
range of -40℃ to +120℃. They have a strong design
as their mechanical properties allow for linear
changes to adjust to this wide temperature range.
Iupilon and Novarex generally do not include large
amount of additives and have no toxicity. Thus, they
have been widely accepted for food containers and
medical applications. Also, we offer grades
according to FDA standards.
Iupilom and Novarex have the best impact resistance
among engineering plastics. Their impact resistance
at down to -40℃ is still about the same as it at room
temperature.
Iupilon and Novarex are essentially self-extinguishing
plastics, and they have been accepted for electric use,
automotive use, and building materials which have a
danger of fire.
Iupilon and Novarex are tranceparent, and have
been widely used as an alternative for inorganic
glass for optical use. The transmission factor of
radiant energy is around 80% to 90%, which is
about the same as acrylic.
Iupilon and Novarex are weather resistant (UV
resistant), and their weather-resistance grades are
highly recommended for various uses such as
outdoor uses, lighting covers, office equipment,
and automotive lamps (ML grades).
Iupilon and Novarex can be applied with various
colors, resulting in a glossier appearance than any
other plastics.
Iupilon and Novarex have well-balanced electrical
properties. Since the electrical properties of
Iupilon and Novarex do not change over a wide
temperature range, they are highly recommended
as insulating material.
Iuoilon and Novarex are amorphous resins and
have excellent dimensional accuracy. In addition,
Iupilon and Novarex’s low water absorption makes
dimensional changes and creep deformation
extremely small. This means Iupilon and Novarex
are well suited for high precision parts.

PVT : Pressure Volume Temperature
Generally, molecular weight of 20,000 to 30,000 is appropriate.
Iupilon and Novarex have the same level of melt
viscosity as other thermoplastics under a temperature
range of 280℃ to 300℃.
