Poly Auction Autumn Sale 2018 totaled 900 million HKD
7 lots in the “Magnificent Jewels sale” auctioned for over 10 million HKD. An 8.5
Carat Fancy Intense Purplish Pink Diamond and Diamond Ring auctioned for
73,160,000 HKD.
The magnificent Patek Philippe 6002G fetched a record-breaking 21,240,000 HKD
“Inheritance - A Selection of Important Chinese Art from the Ever Concord” sale
achieved exceptional results, with a Gilt-Bronze Figure of Seated Shakyamuni,
Yuan or Early Ming Dynasty, 14th-15th Century fetching 14,160,000 HKD, 14
times that of the lower estimate.
January 1967, one of Richard Lin’s largest privately-collected masterpieces created
in the 60’s, went for 7,670,000 HKD.
Glossiness of Uncarved Jade - Works of Cui Ruzhuo, a sale dedicated to works of
Cui Ruzhuo, totaled 120 million HKD. 5 lots went for over 10 million HKD
respectively. Snowy Scenery in the Mountains soared for 30,680,000 HKD.
Poly Auction Hong Kong, leading Chinese auction house, announced their 5-day-autumn-auctions
2018 achieved a combined total of close to 900 million HKD across 16 sales. Managing Director Alex
Chang comments, “Modern and Contemporary Art, Chinese Paintings, Chinese Ceramics and Works
of Art, Jewels and Prestigious Collections have all showed promising results. We are particularly
encouraged by the results of an 8.5 Carat Fancy Intense Purplish Pink Diamond and Diamond Ring
which auctioned for 73,160,000 HKD. Richard Lin, whose works were carefully selected and curated
with reference to his role in the grand narrative of art history, was well received by collectors.
Contemporary Art has maintained a strong foothold. All in all, the results show collectors’
unwavering support and trust in Poly Auction Hong Kong.”
A series of meticulously selected lots by the Jewels and Prestigious Collection department have
fetched a proud total of 350 million. An extremely rare 8.5 Carat Fancy Intense Purplish Pink
Diamond and Diamond Ring led the Magnificent Jewels sale for 73,160,000 HKD. An Impressive
Lavender Jadeite Bead and Emerald Necklace, made of 35 natural Burmese Lavender Jadeite beeds of
15.66 – 14.64mm, went for 21,240,000 HKD. The Important Watches sale fetched a record-breaking
total of 65,610,000 HKD. The much anticipated Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon 6002 (Ref. 6002G )
fetched an exceptional 21,240,000 HKD. It is the most complicated watch ever produced by Patek
Philippe and is the perfect upgraded version of 5002. It redefines the concept of the most complicated
watch in haute horlogerie and introduces a new perception to artistry of timepieces. It is a wrist watch
artwork which is a perfect combination of the works of engravers, specialised champlevé enameller
and watch craftsmen. Each watch has a unique texture on the case, as it is completely hand-crafted
from a large white gold and takes hundreds of hours and delicate hands of craftsmen to complete the
masterpiece. In the Noble Handbags and Accessories sale, collectors were spoiled with a collection of
extremely rare handbags. HERMÈS 2014 - A Rare Matte White Himalayan Niloticus Retourne Kelly
28 with Palladium Hardware soared for 1,628,400 HKD. In the Important Wine and Whisky sale, The
Macallan in Lalique 50 – 65 was auctioned for 3,540,000 HKD after heated biddings. Karuizawa 50 -
