a. Describe the causes and effects of pollution on the Yangtze and Ganges Rivers. b. Describe the causes and effects of flooding in India and China.

Yangtze River and Ganges RiverYangtze River:

Ganges River:

In China wastes and chemicals like oil pollute the river and poison humans and animals. Here are some of the endangered species that live in the river: Yangtze River Dolphin Yangtze River Crocodile Giant Salamander

The Ganges River is Holy to Hindu religion. Hindus bathe in the water for their religion. The river provides irrigation but is not safe to drink out of. Industrial wastes and chemicals pollute the water and kill animals.

Flooding in China and IndiaChina:

India:

Seasonal Monsoon (rainy season) floods China's Rivers. The Yellow River used to be a prime example for flooding in China Now dams keep the rivers from flooding.

Seasonal Monsoon (rainy season) in the Ganges Rivers floods every year. Sometimes they are very destructive. It can cause deaths, mudslides that can destroy homes, farms, roads, and bridges.
