What is poll everywhere?

Poll Everywhere is a simple application that works well for live audiences using mobile devices like phones, tablets or laptops. It can be easily integrated into Powerpoint. People participate by sending text messages, using Twitter, or responding to the presenter’s designated Poll Everywhere webpage. The poll that is embedded within the presentation will update in real time.

FAQs

Will participants who text responses ever receive spam ? No – they may receive a text message confirmation but no participant will

receive unsolicited text messages. Participants’ phone numbers are never shared with poll creators or third parties of any kind.

Are participants charged in any way for sending text messages? Poll Everywhere does not charge anyone for voting in a poll, however,

individual wireless carriers may charge standard text messaging rates depending on the participant’s contract.

Which browser versions does Poll Everywhere support? Chrome Internet Explorer 8.0 and later Safari 4.0 and later Firefox 4.0 and later

Can I use Poll Everywhere with Mac? Yes, but ASWM staff do not have experience using this app with Mac, so you

will need to follow the instructions from the website at http://www.polleverywhere.com/guide#powerpoint__keynote_for_mac

PowerPoint for Windows App

Poll Everywhere is compatible with PowerPoint for Windows 2013, 2010, and 2007. Step 1: Download the PollEv Presenter App http://www.polleverywhere.com/app.exe Step 2: Install the app. Step 3. Open or restart PowerPoint, locate the Poll Everywhere ribbon. Contact ASWM to create your poll in their Poll Everywhere account. Give them your Powerpoint in order to insert the poll(s) into your slides. You will see the poll(s) when you are in slideshow mode. ASWM staff will assist you in preparing your presentation and enabling your poll for a live audience.
