Is healthy food popular among teenagers?

In today's world parents are pressed for time that's why they buy their children quick snacks like chocolate bars, sweets buns, at best fruits.

What's more, children often drink sugary beverages which contain a lot of calories. All of that contributes to obesity.

What can we do to eat healthy and tasty at the same time? -1

That is not so complicated. We can search the Internet for a reliable website with healthy eating advice or ask a doctor.

We must remember that our diet has to be varied, balanced and adjusted to our activeness.

We should eat lots of vegetables and fruit and add them to each meal. Our sandwiches should be green:)

What can we do to eat healthy and tasty at the same time? -2

We should eat regularly in small portions. The most important meal during the day is breakfast so we should not omit it.

As far as possible we should prepare food by ourselves, f.e. preparing meat, baking bread. We should also eat products with a low glycemic index, I mean simple meals which we used to eat in the past.

Does healthy food influence our health?

That' a fact. Healthy eating habits are responsible for a proper weight appropriate to a person's age. Leading a healthy lifestyle improves also our immunity system.

If a young person is accustomed to healthy eating habits, he/she eats healthy in adult life. A good example of a healthy snack is cranberry, which has a positive impact on urinary tract.

What does 'healthy food' mean? Healthy food means

products generated naturally without modification, at best produced in ecological conditions.

We don't know what results will GMO have on people's well-being in future.

What illnesses does the healthy diet prevent from?

The no pharmacological treatment i.e. the diet therapy prevent many illnesses such as: hypertension (when suffering from it we must cut down on the amount of salt in meals which we eat), diabetes - (we must limit the amount of sugars and fats), heart diseases (we must also pay attention to the amount of salt we eat).

Improper dieting encourages weight excess, especially at a young age. A healthy diet is crucial in case of the majority of diseases.

How does healthy eating influcence our well-being?

A court doctor used to say: "the move and healthy diet can replace a lot of medicines, but no medicine will replace the move and healthy diet."

We should stick to this rule since healthy eating makes us feel better, stronger and more efficient. A healthy diet is a base of curing without taking medicines.

What should elderly people avoid in their diet?

Most often elderly people have problems with teeth and holding urine. Thereby, they avoid hard products e.g. of nuts, and avoid consuming lots of beverages. All of that has a negative impact on their health.

They should avoid high-fatty and salty products. Still, they have to remember not to cut out salt entirely because problems with electrolytes can appear).

Are the vitamins included in supplements the same as the ones included in fruits?

Vitamins contained in fruits are more natural and are more easily absorbed by an organism.

Once a person eats healthy, he/she doesn't need to take any dietary supplements.

Only during winter one can take some vitamins e.g vitamin D or when staying in hospital.

We should be careful when taking vitamins since an exaggerated amount of them can be harmful.

How should a balanced diet for a young person look like?

A well-balanced diet of a young person must be varied and must contain all food groups: protein, carbohydrates and fat in appropriate proportions according to the table of the caloric requirement.

50% of carbohydrates should come from such products as vegetables, fruits, salads.

Protein can be found in cheese, lean meat (e.g. Chicken),. Fat, at best of plant origin, can be found in olive oil, rape oil. We should eat wholegrain bread.

What fruit contains the most vitamin C?

I cannot say exactly, but for sure citruses, a kiwi fruit and polish fruits such as apples, gooseberry, and currants. Also sauerkraut contains a lot of vitamin C.

We must remember that a high temperature destroys vitamin C.

What it is good and bad cholesterol? When we receive so-called Lipidogram

findings we get to know the level of:- total cholesterol,- HDL cholesterol, so-called good,

protective cholesterol,- LDL cholesterol, so-called bad

cholesterol which is accumulated in blood vessels,

- level of triglycerides. The development of atherosclerosis is

an effect of high LDL cholesterol. LDL cholesterol can be found in fats such as butter, margarine and egg yolks.

Omega3 and Omega6 acids included in the liquid fats or specially prepared margarines are sources of HDL cholesterol.

Is even a small amount of stimulants harmful for us? -1

Yes, it is. Cigarettes are a legal stimulant and are universally available.

The substances which destroy our health when smoking are benzopyrene, polan, uran, benzene, carbon monoxide and tarry substances.

If one smokes one packet of cigarettes per day, 1 mug of tarry substances gathers in his/her lungs within a year.

Smoking results in oral cavity, voice box, trachea, digestive tract and urinary bladder cancers.

As harmful as cigarettes is alcohol and other stimulants. Many people think that beer isn't alcohol but only a drink, which is alarming since beer is also alcohol which is bad for our health.
