In July, Pokemon Gowas finally released
People celebrated achildhood favorite
come to life
As well as thedawn of widely
available ARGaming
But the problemssoon emerged
Some lamented theabsence of a social
networking function
But that's not really aproblem. Niantic just
hasn't gotten around tocreating it... yet.
The bigger problemscame with a buggyPokemon tracking
system
A glitch renderedan important in-
game function nearuseless.
Naturally, thirdParty apps
sprung up to fillthe void.
But a recent in-gameupdate apparently
penalized these apps,and forced them
offline
However, the sameupdate seemed to shut
down the nativetracking feature for
good.
The update alsoaltered Pokémonbehavior, making
their capture moredifficult.
Many fans of the gamefeel these issues have
made Pokémon Go lessenjoyable.
What do you think? Didthe game launch too
quickly? Or are these justgrowing pains of early
AR?
