The Pogue’s Run Waterway Committee and its partners have worked diligently in 2017 and 2018 improving the water quality through green infrastructure improvements, engaging the Near Eastside community in educational and fun activities along the waterway, and organizing multiple art installations and experiences along Pogue’s Run. Pogue’s Run Art and Nature Park • Supported new sculpture by

Paramount School of Excellence students

• Held a Nature Play Day scavenger hunt in the park

• Collaborated with Otterbein neighbors and artists led by Eric Nordgulen to install 2 new art benches and restored an older one

• Worked with TeenWorks to paint beautiful new mural depicting life at the park

Education • Held a Fall Color Art and Science

Adventure with The DaVinci Pursuit • KIB Arborist taught Participants

about trees and participants learned to blend colors and paint with a local artist

• Hosted 2 Hoosier Riverwatch sampling days at Spades Park and Cottage Home neighborhood

• Held 10 Green Infrastructure Maintenance Trainings with Groundwork Indy Green Team and DuVall residents

Pogue’s Run Waterway Committee looks forward to continuing to support the completion of Pogue’s Run Trail and involving all residents along Pogue’s Run in projects that improve the waterway and the quality of life on the Near Eastside.
