Grade 9 Poetry Project Learning Targets: I can reflect upon and write about what makes me a distinct person (image bearer). I can express thoughts about myself by using language creatively. Outcome: Using poetry, you will explore different writing techniques and use these techniques to write a series of poems that reflects an aspect of your personality. These poems will be collected in an “anthology” that will be presented to the class and possibly to others. Method: 1. Choose a theme for your poetry. Think about an activity you enjoy, a hobby that you enjoy, a person that is important to you, a family tradition – anything that interests you and makes up a big part of your life and who you are as a person. 2. - at least three illustrations/pictures that relate to your theme

The book must be neat and presentable. It should be good enough to share with others.

2. Share three of your favourite poems with the class during a classroom poetry jam.
