In today’s current lung function assessment environment, many respiratory doctors and consultants are frustrated by the inability of conventional technology to provide them with the vital data needed in the assessment and early diagnosis of disease. These limitations impact on the ability to provide timely and appropriate preventative care for many sufferers of respiratory related ailments. The PneumaScan™ removes many of these limitations by measuring lung function in a non-contact non-invasive methodology.

PneumaScan™’s measurement results are presented in familiar formats allowing clinicians to make quick diagnostic decisions. The PneumaView™ software also provides a real-time chest wall reconstruction video, allowing the care-giver to review the actual chest movement made during the assessment; valuable information for the consultant’s diagnostic decision process.

By eliminating the requirement to form a seal on a mouthpiece, a broader patient population can now be assessed. In addition, PneumaScan™’s non-contact measurement capabilities enable measurement without the requirements of disposables or daily calibration. Imaging can be done in a lung function lab, at the patient’s bedside or even at a facility’s admissions point.
