PQM: Perform Quality Assurance: OutputsChange Requests • Change requests are created and used as input to Integrated Change Control process.

Change requests are used to take corrective action, preventive action or for defect repair.

Project Document updates

• Updates to Quality audit reports, Training plan and process documentation.

Project Management Plan (updates) • Updates include incorporation of processes that have been through continuous process

improvement and are ready to repeat the cycle, and improvements to processes that have been identified and measured, and are ready to be implemented.

Organizational Process Assets (updates)

• Updated quality standards provide validation of the effectiveness and efficiency of the performing quality standards and processes to meet requirements.

Perform Quality Control

The project management team may have working knowledge of statistical quality control, especially sampling, and probability, to help it evaluate quality control outputs.

Remember the differences: Prevention (keeping errors out of the process) and inspection

(keeping errors out of the hands of the customer) Special causes (unusual events) and random causes (normal

process variation)

Attribute sampling (the result conforms or it not) and variable sampling (the result is rated on continuous scale that measures the degree of conformity)

Tolerances (the result is acceptable if it falls within the range specified by the tolerance) and control limits (the process is in control if the result falls within the control limits)
