3. Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the PMP credential, you must meet certain educational qualification andprofessional experience. All project management experience must have been accrued within thelast 8 consecutive years prior to submitting your application.

There are 2 categories of people who are eligible to take the PMPexam.

First category belongs to high school diploma, associates degree or global equivalent

degree holders with minimum five years/60 months unique nonoverlapping professional projectmanagement experience during which at least 7,500 hours were spent leading and directingproject tasks* with 35 contact hours of formal education.

Second category belongs to Bachelors degree or global equivalent with minimum threeyears/36 months unique non-overlapping professional project management experience during

*Leading and directing project tasks as identified in theProject Management Professional Examination Specification. Within thetotal hours of project management experience, experience in all five process groups is required. However, on a single project, youdo not need to have experience in all five process groups.

4. PMPApplication Form Filling

The PMPApplication preparation process is time consuming and you need all your projectdetails pertaining to last 3 years.

Once you get the template, you need to fill in your project details and verify to ensurethat the details are correct. Upon completing the project details for all the projects , you need to fillin the online application form from PMI website.

5. Exam Format

The PMP examination comprises of 200 multiple-choice questions which shouldbe completed in 4 hours. 25 questions are considered as pretest questions.
