How do I know when I am ready to take the PMP exam

can assess your readiness to take the PMPexam Here is my recommendation Studythe PMBOKreg Guide 2-3 times Note that wesay that you must study and not simplyread the PMBOKreg Guide Begin applyingthe principles described on your day to dayprojects and also relate them back to yourprevious projects That way you will seehow these principles work Doing it thisway will make you a better projectmanager and help you pass the exam asopposed to just mindless memorization



One important recommendation we have for thosetaking the PMP Exam is that to manage the timeallotted to answer each question on the exam Call it budgeting call it time management call it whatever

you want but do it You need to walk into theexamination room with a clear plan on how manyquestions you will answer per hour when you plan ontaking a break and what you will do if time seems to berunning out

How should I manage my time effectively in the PMPexam



Remember that the exam is composed of 200 questionsthat you must answer within 4 hours Thats 12 minutesper question Once you begin the clock starts and willnot stop even when you take a break So plan yourapproach - say for the first 2 hours answer all easyquestions first and mark those difficult ones for later Besure to read all the questions carefully and understandthem before you answer Then take a 10 minute break before going back to the harder questions for the rest ofthe allotted time By doing this you will be able to finishthe whole exam on time

But thats just one of many possible approaches and youshould define your own And by having a plan andimplementing it you will relieve a lot of the exampressure So plan well and budget your time wisely tosucceed
