Welcome to Summer... Contents Summer 2012

Wow, we’ve barely caught our breath from a mesmerizing Spring Season in the Arena and we’re now proud

to be announcing our Summer line-up! Not only are we bringing you massive comedy personalities such as our cover star this season, Michael McIntyre, but also, an eclectic range of entertainment ranging from Classical music, to our cheeky Summer smash WildBoyz, perfect if you’re thinking of organizing a hen night perhaps! With lots of well publicised changes happening here at the Pavilions throughout 2012, we’re keen to keep you in the know, and as such we hope to have explained everything in the pages of this brochure. One of the major improvements affecting our Arena customers is the introduction of ‘Print at Home’ ticketing. This fantastic new service is now common place in the entertainment industry, and I am proud to be pioneering the way in the South West! In our Ice Rink things are going from strength to strength and we have received massive public support, as more and more people ‘get their skates on’! Why not come along and try a fun filled session, such as our Family Ice Disco, or perhaps you fancy bringing the kids along to our ever popular Chilly Penguins Club on a Saturday morning for 6-12 year olds! Don’t forget, we are the only permanent Ice Skating facility in the South West, and as such we’re proud to be bringing you hours of Icy fun throughout 2012!

In 2012, the Pavilions continues its love affair with quality live entertainment and is committed to bringing not only the top acts in the country to the city of Plymouth, but also from all over the world. In only the last six months, we can boast names such as Jessie J, Bill Bailey and monsters of metal Motorhead, whilst looking forward through the pages of this brochure, names like Michael McIntyre, Professor Green and Bombay Bicycle Club are testament to the fact that we are dedicated to the water tight

programme that we are known for. However, like anything, as we strive to improve the quality of the service we offer our customers, there will undoubtedly be a few changes along the way. Having closed the doors of our Fun Pool in March this year to make way for the city’s newly opened state of the art Life Centre, our Ice Rink continues to be the only permanent Ice Facility in the South West region! The Rink offers a full range of sessions for both private and public skating, 14.5 hours a day,

After last year celebrating its 20th birthday, the Pavilions has gone from strength to strength in delivering as diverse a live entertainment programme as you are likely to find anywhere in the South West. Couple this, with first class leisure facilities in the heart of the city and you can see why Plymouth Pavilions has been taken into the hearts of people across the region and beyond. Entire families will no doubt remember their first live gig, or perhaps the first time they ‘let go’ from the edge of our Ice Rink!

Because standing still just isn’t an option!

seven days a week. You can now access our Ice Rink through its own dedicated entrance, just a stone’s throw from the previous main entrance, and you will also find a waiting and refreshments area, so we look forward to welcoming you onto the ice soon!Another change, is that we are swapping Box Office queues in the rain and people camping out under canvas for days on end to secure tickets for their favourite artist, for virtual 24/7 booking facilities and print at home ticketing. But of course we are still on the end of the phone should you wish to speak to one of our friendly Box Office Agents who will be happy to book your tickets and discuss your options with you, as they know our Arena like the back of their hand! And we will as ever, still send your tickets in the post should you prefer this option. Like a phoenix from the ashes, the Pavilions is holding its head high and running with the major players in the industry, improving the customer experience and streamlining its operation, so that we can continue the high standards our customers expect! On the evening, or indeed the day of a performance or event, the Arena will open its doors to customers, offering ticket collection facilities, hot and cold refreshments from our Live Café and of course strictly cold (and possibly bubbly) refreshment from our Arena Bar! You can also access the Arena from the nearby Western Approach multi-storey car park through the undercover walkway. This walkway will open 90 minutes before a show is due to start and will remain open for access to the car park after the show. For more detailed information you can check out our website www.plymouthpavilions.com where you will find everything you need to know for a thoroughly enjoyable visit to the venue. So as you can see, Plymouth Pavilions continues to carry its crown as the South West’s premier live entertainment venue with gusto, and we hope you will be able to join us in both our Arena, and Ice Rink soon!

When can I book my tickets? You can book tickets for performances and events, 24 hours a day, seven days a week using our online booking facility at www.plymouthpavilions.com

Our Box Office phone lines are open from 10am – 6pm Monday to Saturday.

On the day or evening of a performance, the Box Office will open to ‘in person’ callers 90 minutes before a show is scheduled to start, and will remain open for 30 minutes after the main act has gone on stage. It will only be open at these times.

How can I book my tickets?Tickets can be booked online, or over the telephone. Tickets may also be purchased over the counter in the 90 minute period before the start time of a performance. (Please note however, that the promoter reserves the right to increase the price of tickets bought during this period.)

All tickets are subject to a booking fee of £2.25 per ticket. This fee is reduced where top price tickets are less than £15, and fees do not apply if booking ten tickets or more in one transaction. (Please note ticket limits may apply in certain circumstances.)

How will I receive my tickets? Whether you book your tickets over the phone or online, you will be offered the same delivery options for your tickets:

• Tickets can be posted to your home address at a cost of 25p per ticket

• Tickets can be emailed to you free of charge, in order for you to print them yourself at home (See our Print at Home section for more info.)

If you book your tickets within three working days of the performance or event, we cannot offer a postal service. Instead, your tickets will be held at the Box Office, ready for collection within the 90 minute opening period before the show start time. To collect tickets you will be required to produce a valid form of ID, such as a driving licence, as well as the credit/debit card that the tickets were purchased with.

If you choose to have your tickets emailed to you at home, we recommend booking no later than two working days before the show.

How can I pay for my tickets? We can accept all major debit and credit cards (excluding AMEX) both over the telephone and online. If booking at the Box Office in person (in the 90 minute opening period before a performance start time), we can also accept cash, cheques and postal orders.

Do you offer concessions? All concessions are set by the individual promoter of a show or event, apart from disabled concessions which apply in all instances. For details of available concessions for a particular performance or event please visit our website www.plymouthpavilions.com

Only one concession (including child prices) can be applied per ticket. Please inform us at the time of booking, or ensure you select the correct price option, as unfortunately concessions cannot be applied retrospectively once tickets have been issued.

Can you offer a refund for tickets I have purchased? We cannot offer refunds under any circumstances unless a show sells out or cancels.

If a show is sold out, we can offer a resale facility via our Box Office. Only tickets purchased from the Pavilions will be accepted for resale, and all requests must be made at least 24 hours prior to a performance, in writing. We cannot guarantee that your ticket/s will be resold, and only in the instance that they are, will you receive a refund (excluding fees.) We will notify you if we have been successful in selling your ticket/s.

What happens if I lose my tickets, or they become damaged? If your tickets are lost, damaged or stolen you must notify us as soon as you can. We will then cancel your original tickets and issue you with new ones on the day/evening of the performance which should be collected from the Box Office. This is the case for both tickets that were posted to you, and tickets that were emailed.

AccessibilityPlymouth Pavilions is firmly committed to enabling all our patrons to participate in our events and facilities equally with dignity and respect.

Wheelchair spaces are available for all shows and we operate a discount scheme for those who need someone to be present in order to assist them to access the Pavilions and its services. We have facilities for customers who are blind or partially sighted and for those who are hard of hearing.

Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any particular access needs and we will be delighted to discuss your requirements.

Plymouth Pavilions, Millbay Road, Plymouth, PL1 3LF

New for 2012 is the facility to print your tickets at home! The main obvious advantage of this service is the saving on postage costs, but it also enables you to receive your tickets immediately - no waiting for the postman!

All you need to print your tickets is a basic printer, as you do not need to print your tickets

in colour if you do not wish to. Tickets print onto standard A4 paper.

On the day or evening of the performance you will need to bring your printed tickets along with you, ensuring that the bar code is clearly visible and legible as we will need to scan this upon entry.

Handy Hints for online booking• If you would like to book tickets for a show that you know is going to be very popular as soon as the tickets go on sale, you can save time by creating an account or logging in before selecting your tickets. This way your transaction will not time out while you enter your personal information!

• Choosing to print your tickets at home will save you 25p on every ticket you book in one transaction!• By selecting the option to receive emails from Plymouth Pavilions we can not only keep you informed about up coming shows and events that we think you will be interested in, but we can also inform you about things such as roadworks near the building on your performance date, or let you know about cancellations and postponements in the speediest way possible.
