Location: Cannelton, Indiana
Size: 20,000 square feet
The cotton mill in Canneltonprovided many of the uniforms forthe Union Army during the CivilWar. One tower shows the effect of acannon ball shot from a Confederategun boat sailing on the Ohio River.
Architecture Plus was commissionedto design a new roofing system for thethen empty Cannelton Cotton Mill toavoid further deterioration of thehistoric structure.
The work also involved determiningthe extent of existing stone damageand foundation settlement, and arecommendation on its repair.
Years later the facility was turned intoa housing development. With thisdevelopment the structure is assuredof remaining with us for decades tocome.

Client: Restore Princeton RR Depot
Location: Princeton, Indiana
Size: 2,000 square feet
Following a long negotiation periodwith CSX Railroad, the PrincetonRailroad Station was finally deeded toRestore Princeton RR Depot.
Tim Henning of Architecture Pluswas a member of the board andworked on a pro-bono basis to assistin providing construction documentsto receive bids for the restoration ofthe facility through an Indiana Grant.
John Burris, a retired banker andmember of the board, worked endlesshours in physically restoring thestation to its original beauty.
Interesting note that the woodoverhangs were made of Bald Cypress,a rare wood known for its decayresistance.
The building is currently being usedas an office.

Client: Pioneer Development
Location: Garrett, Indiana
Size: 20,000 square feet
Sacred Heart Hospital, built in 1902,was renovated into assited-livingapartment units. The unique roomsof this amazing structure demandedspecial attention and detailing duringthe design phase, but resulted in verydistinctive living spaces. During thededication ceremony, project managerMark Henning recalls the excitementof possible tenants as they toured eachroom, trying to pick a favorite.
A new, 16-unit complex was alsodeveloped on the same site to offeradditional living options.
Architecture Plus teamed with RatioArchitects of Indianapolis on thisproject.

Location: New Harmony, Indiana
Size: 1,200 square feet
Located in historic New Harmony,the Duclos House has a centralproximity to all recreational activitiesand restaurants, and therefore is afavorite retreat for tourists and worldartists as a temporary residence.
Architecture Plus was commissionedto upgrade the mechanical andelectrical components of the house.The kitchen was also modernized.Interior finishes are compatible withperiod architecture.

The Green Gothic residence locatedin historic New Harmony, is a rentalproperty leased through RedGeranium Enterprises.
Attention to detail during theremodel of this facility was carefullywoven with the mechanical andelectrical upgrades required.
Interior design included a newkitchen and finishes compatible withthe original architecture.

The Red Geranium Restaurant has offeredvisitors to New Harmony a peaceful andelegant dining experience for decades.During an eight week shutdown, thefacility was completely renovated, givingthe restaurant a much-needed facelift.
Exterior improvements include a newgabled roof and a new Red GeraniumRestaurant sign over the entrance toenhance the once hidden passageway.
Inside, the old bar was salvaged and movedinto a once private dining area containingan invaluable mural painting on the wallsand vaulted ceiling. The old bar room wasmodified with additional seating area andwas dressed up with new leather benchesalong the walls.
New lighting throughout the facilityimproves the ambiance for customers. Apolar ionization filtration system withinthe HVAC system removes smoke particlesand odor from the bar. A 42" plasmatelevision and iPod docking station provideaudio/visual entertainment for bar patrons.

Client: Gibson County Commissioners
Location: Princeton, Indiana
Size: 32,800 square feet
The Gibson County Courthouse was built in1884 and placed on the National HistoricRegister by architect Timothy Henning in1984. The Richardsonian Romanesquestructure was originally designed by theMcDonald Brothers architectural firmlocated in Louisville, Kentucky. Thebuilding is the third courthouse to be builton the Princeton Public Square.
The first phase of restoration for this projectincluded masonry re-pointing (tuckpointing) and general water proofing of theexterior.
Phase II included cornice repair, removal oflead based exterior paint, and application ofnew paint to the exterior of the building.
Phase III included mechanical, electrical,and plumbing upgrades for energyefficiency. The hot water (originally steam)system, cast iron radiators, and boilers wereremoved and replaced with a VRF (variablerefrigerant flow) HVAC system. Asbestosabatement was part of this project.

Greenway Condominiums is locatedon the Evansville Greenwaypedestrian and bicycle corridor.
The building is on historic WestFranklin Street close to downtownand a busy commercial district. Theold manufacturing - warehousebuilding contains both housing unitsand a parking garage for residents.The storefront space along WestFranklin Street is being maintainedfor a potential restaurant space.

Location: Huntingburg, Indiana
The Huntingburg ballpark wasoriginally built for the production ofthe move "A League of Their Own".This move captured the essence ofwomen's baseball during the WWIIera.
As the women's baseball leaguehistoric collection had run out ofroom at Cooperstown, New York,they were looking for additional spacefor housing their artifacts.
Architecture Plus was commissionedto do a preliminary design for a newmuseum to house these artifacts, anew facade for the existing stadium,and new dugouts. The architecturewas designed to be representative ofthe 1940's era.
The two story museum's roof wasdesigned as a viewing deck fromwhich the entire ball field could beseen.

Location: Boonville, Indiana
Size: 1,835 square feet
Located on the south side of the courthouse square inBoonville, this historic office building has become theprimary residence of its Owner.
Windows will be opened on the second floor to display theoriginal architecture while providing light and egress forbedrooms.
The first floor will be used for kitchen and living spaces.
The rear of the building will have an elevated deck whichwill double as a car port.
