10.01 Solar Hot Water Storage Cylinders.

The storage cylinders shall be fabricated from 2.5mm thick (Gauge 12)mild steel plate and hot dipped galvanised after manufacture, suitable forhorizontal mounting. The insulation shall be polyurethane foam 50mmthick injected in the void between outer wall of the storage tank and theouter casings. The outer casing shall be mild steel sheet 24 gaugefinished in two coats gloss paint with red oxide undercoat.

10.06 Time SwitchThe auxiliary electric water heater elements shall be controlled by a timeswitch such that they come “ON” during peak hours only. The time switchmust be capable of switching the heater “ON” and “OFF” at least threetimes per day.
