plugged in! the promise of the holy spirit
DESCRIPTION
Being plugged in to Christ (John 15: 7-8) means we are vitally connected with Him, just as branches are connected to a vine. As we surrender to the work of His Spirit inside of us, we relinquish our will to Him—we determine to do what He wants us to do! In this way, we learn more about: The Promise of the Holy Spirit The Person of the Holy Spirit The Presents (Gifts) of the Holy Spirit The Power of the Holy Spirit the The Push (Nudges) of the Holy SpiritTRANSCRIPT

The Promise of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:37-39 Peter's words convicted them
deeply, and they said to him and to the other
apostles, "Brothers, what should we do?"
Peter replied, "Each of you must turn
from your sins and turn to God, and
be baptized in the name of Jesus
Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.
Then you will receive the gift of the
Holy Spirit.
This promise is to you and to
your children, and even to the
Gentiles—all who have been
called by the Lord our God."
The Apostle Peter responds to the question, “What shall we do?”
•repent and turn to God•be baptized in Jesus’ name
Then, you’ll receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit…
Repentance and Turning to God:
In repentance we •turn away from ourselves;
In faith we •turn toward God
Baptism in Jesus’ Name:
Being immersed in water illustrates
our total immersion into Christ
and into all He has done for us.
Being Filled With the Spirit
gives us power and desire to live
in a way we could never live on
our own!
Acts 1:8 But when the Holy Spirit
has come upon you, you will receive
power and will tell people about me
everywhere—in Jerusalem,
throughout Judea, in Samaria, and
to the ends of the earth."
