What is an E-Book?

An E-Book or Electronic Book is

not made of paper.

You read an E-Book from a computer or

special device called a Reader.

Most e-books cost about US$9.99 or 37 dirhams.

The best selling e-book reader is called a Kindle and is sold by

Forms or formats of E-Books

Sometimes an E-Book is a scan

of a paper book (PDF).

But sometimes an E-Book is

typed directly into a computer program (html).

Advantages & Disadvantages

E-Books do not take up space on

a book shelf.

You don’t have to go to the library.

You can read them from your computer.

You don’t have to wait until

somebody returns an E-Book to the

library.

Some people think E-Books are difficult to read. They say

they get a headache from looking at a computer all the

time.

E-Books can be expensive;

they are not free. And you need an

expensive computer or reader

too.
