From the HCT Library website, there are

many functions that you can do yourself without help from

library staff.

For example, you can renew items, request items from other libraries, see what items you have checked out and save search terms for topics you are interested in.

From the HCT portal, click on Library.

Then, FALCON Library

Catalogue.

From Login/View My

Record, you can see what you have

borrowed.

Let’s look at My Library

You can use your regular

password or create a different one.

Login with your staff or student

number. Staff can use the short email name.

You can see all the items you have checked out and when they are

due back.

You can renew by

ticking the box and clicking

Renew Selected.

You can also change your

personal info.

You can change your PIN. If you forget your PIN, library staff can delete it. But, they cannot retrieve your old PIN because it is

encrypted.

You can save your search terms and use them again; for example, you like the author

Roberto Bolano and want to read new books by him.

You can also keep a record of items you have

checked out.

To save your search terms for another

day, click on the box “Save as a preferred

search.”

When you find an item you need,

simply click : Request

Now, let’s see how to request items from other HCT

libraries.

First, you need to login. Then click on your college

name.

If you have a deadline,

choose a date. Or, leave this

blank.Click : Enter

Next, you will see a screen that tells you if your request was

successful.

That’s it. You are finished.

You will get an email when the book arrives at

your library.

Check your email to see if the book has

arrived.

If you do not pick the book up within 3 days, it will be returned to

the other library

.

Usually in 2-3 days, you will get an email when the book arrives at

your library.

You can keep the book for

2 weeks.
