This Sunday’s Collect and Readings Worship today Upcoming events

Introduction and Call to Worship We come into God’s presence, trusting that God receives us as we are. As we worship, we ask that the Holy Spirit will energise our desire to give God glory and help us be willing to receive what the Son may make known to us. Our Mission Community Prayer Heavenly Father, As we meet in your presence, hold us together in our Mission Community. May your church grow as we deepen our love for you and our service to others. Help us always to remember, though we are many, we are one body, as we all share in you, our one God. Amen Collect Gracious Father, by the obedience of Jesus you brought salvation to our wayward world: draw us into harmony with your will, that we may find all things restored in him, our Saviour Jesus Christ. First Reading Zechariah 9:9-12 Zechariah’s prophecy anticipates the coming of Christ, whose humble, all-encompassing rule will bring peace to warring nations, freedom and restoration to God’s oppressed people. Second Reading Romans 7:15-25a Paul laments that his desire to obey God’s laws is continually sabotaged by forces within that drive sinful behaviour. Only God’s power through Christ can bring release. Gospel Matthew 11:16-19. 25-end Jesus notes how this generation resists those whom God has sent. He invites those who are humble and needy to receive from him as he reveals God’s kingdom.
