STEAM utilizes the arts as a vehicle for demonstrating
what has been learned, while increasing creativity and
teaching “habits of mind” that can be applied to any
subject.
STEAM techniques will be used to teach United States
geography. Students will learn about the physical
properties of the country in which they live. At the end
of this course they will have a better understanding of
where things are and how the United States came to
be put together in the way that it is.

MOVING ON AFTER MIDDLE SCHOOL
Many Georgia high schools now off a series of 6 classes
taken during a student’s four years in high school.
These classes are called a PATHWAY and they help the
student focus their learning on a career of their choosing.
Students successfully finishing these 6 classes are
PATHWAY COMPLETERS
and are awarded a special gold medallion on their graduation
diploma.

A- NO (& Yes)
All Fulton County Middle Schools use the same program to place students randomly into their connections classes.
Students who selected Band, Chores or Orchestra already
“used” some connections placements.
The Georgia DOE requires PE and Health classes in middle school.
FAQ’s
A- The GOAL is to have students experience as
many connections class as possible during their
middle school years.
This best prepares them for the variety of classes
they will encounter during their high school years.

students with many issues and work to get students
into a classroom setting appropriate for them.
