Gomez, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate. Gabriel
Gomez is a United States Navel Academy graduate from Los
Angeles who has served as both a Navy aircraft carrier pilot
and a Navy SEAL officer. He received his MBA from
Harvard Business School after leaving the Navy in 1996 and
went on to become a private equity investor with the
Boston-based investment firm, Advent-International. He is
now running for the recently vacated U.S. Senate seat for
Massachusetts as the Republican candidate.

Malden Farmers Market
Coming June 25th Last summer, the Malden Chamber of Commerce ran the Malden Farmers Market in City Hall Plaza which featured many vendors, farms and live music every
Tuesday afternoon. It created a great interest in a farmers market with locally grown goods in the heart of Malden and this year the Chamber has handed the reins over
to the new Market Manager, Stacey Gilchrist.
The Malden Farmers Market will return starting June 25th and will run
through September 24th. It will be held in the Malden City Hall Esplanade at 200
Pleasant Street across from the
Malden T station and will go from
3:00-6:30pm every Tuesday. The
market includes vendors and farms selling locally grown vegetables, fruits, baked goods,
crafts, and more. We hope that Stacey has an even greater turnout for this

Housing Families 2013
Backpack Drive!
Now through Friday, August 9th! The children at Housing Families need your help to get
ready for school! With your generous support, Housing Families will provide a backpack with school supplies to each child in our program attending school. Last year, through
the generosity of community partners like you, we provided more than 400 backpacks filled with supplies to homeless and very low income elementary, middle, and high school students in our communities!
