N EW H AMPSHIRE P RO B ONO R EFERRAL P ROGRAM (P RO B ONO ) recruits and supports New Hampshire lawyers willing to volunteer their time to represent low-income individuals and families in civil cases at no charge. Pro Bono coordinates a volunteer network that provides low-income clients with assistance in family law, domestic violence (via its DOVE Project), housing, consumer, income tax and other legal matters. Responsive to changing needs, Pro Bono recently launched a Home Rescue Team Project to help low-income families and seniors save their homes from foreclosure. N EW H AMPSHIRE L EGAL A SSISTANCE (NHLA) is a non-profit law firm that serves low-income and elderly people across the state through offices in Concord, Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth, Claremont and Littleton. NHLA’s lawyers and paralegals focus on clients’ most basic needs: preserving their homes, protecting subsistence income, obtaining access to health care, providing food and clothing for their families, and maintaining their safety, independence and dignity. L EGAL A DVICE AND R EFERRAL C ENTER (LARC) provides toll-free telephone access to information, legal advice, and referral services in both English and Spanish in the areas of benefits, family law and housing. LARC is the principal referral source for the Pro Bono program and also refers eligible callers to NHLA and other programs. LARC offers a course for Limited English Proficient low wage-earners regarding financial and tax literacy. This course is offered in several languages. Please give generously.
