with Brave Kid to launch their first kids fashion collection intothe spring 2014 season.

There was a fantastic garden event in Florence to mark thelaunch with children dressed up and playing in a decoratedgarden plus a beautiful arrangement of still life tableaux in thestables for a closer view of the collection.

The brothers were there for the launch and I managed a sneakyword with one of them who said they had a lot of friends whohad children recently and it had given them the idea to begin achildren’s collection especially as their customers were growingolder and having kids too.

The clothing follows the aesthetic of the adult lines and isplayful, cool and easy to wear with a little of the Canadian easystyling combined with some theatrical touches. AndreaMontlepare is responsible for the matching kids footwear forDsquared2.

What a finale, as the kids dressed in Il Gufo’s summer 2014fashion trends came down the catwalk at Pitti Bimbo 77 onelast time, strategically placed bubble machines erupted to theirdelight.

It made for a hugely entertaining moment and showed off thesweetie bright colours of the collection to perfection. There wasextra emphasis on printed cotton jersey for the summer seasonbut the signature Il Gufo gathered neckline silhouettes remain.Favourite shades were tangerine, yellow, raspberry, mint green,grassy greens and grey mixed with white staples. Notable in ablue and white section was a striped all in one jumpsuit too.

As well as the bubble entertainment Il Gufo had hired anexceptional youth orchestra rather than the usual thumpingbeat soundtrack half of whom were hidden behind a curtainuntil the final moments, another surprise for the audience!

Pitti Bimbo 77 trend report– preview of Roma eToska spring 2014 kidsfashionPosted on June 27, 2013

The lovely Roma e Toska trend setting kids fashion label hasoffered a preview of their 2014 spring / summer line which isexhibiting at Pitti Bimbo from today.

This season inspiration for the collection comes from a journeyinto the woods and specifically some painters of the Romanticperiod including a print taken from “Promenade in the Woods”by the Russian painter Iwan Schischkin.

One print is of small anemone flowers, another is a Birch treebark which is used for linings. The collection is highly focusedon the teenage years but as you can see below there is a smallerrange for pre teen girls too. See last seasons teen fashions for thecoming winter too.

The label is very popular in its native Germany as well asRussia and Asia and is sold in the UK in Harrods. The label isalso manufactured ethically in Germany and Italy.
