Play Is Learning
Your children love to play. From the time they were born, they have been discovering what their body can do. Every time they play, their brains are making new connections that help their development. To your children, there’s only one reason to play: to have fun. Their play may look messy, silly, noisy, or repetitive. But you know that they are doing some serious learning! Play is how they test the possibilities and explore their world.

January is Child Development Month
at the Family Resource Center
Because your child’s first 5 years of life are so important, we want to help you provide the best start for your child.
The Plainfield Family Resource Center would like to welcome you to our early childhood
screening program Ages and Stages. We will sit with you and your child while you ask
questions about some things your child can and cannot do. As part of this service, we pro-
vide the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, Third Edition (ASQ-3™), to help you keep track of
your child’s development. The questionnaire includes questions about your child’s commu-
nication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal-social skills.
No one knows your child better than you- that’s why it’s important for you to know and
understand your child’s developmental milestones.
