Library Quote of
the Month
Libraries are a corner-
stone of democracy—
where information is free
and equally available to
everyone. People tend to
take that for granted, and
they don’t realize what is
at stake when that is put
at risk.
- Carla Hayden
We all had a blast at
our Dr. Seuss birthday
celebration. Every-
body worked together
to make the event a
big success: Wendy’s
cookies were a huge
hit, Melissa went
above and beyond
with her Cat in the Hat
costume, and Darren
even joined in on the
fun!
We’ve got some fun-filled events and some changes to
our normal schedule coming up in the month of March;
continue reading to find out all about it!
March 2020
If you’ve ever wanted to get into photography as a hobby
but have been unsure of how or where to start, March 7th
is your lucky day! We will be welcoming professional
photographer Jeffrey David Montanye on that Saturday at
11:00 AM to lead a class on digital photography basics.
He will go over all of the tips and tricks you need to know
to begin your journey towards becoming a photography
expert. Registration is required, so call or visit the library
to sign up soon!
We have an important change coming to
our monthly Board of Trustees meeting
schedule. Moving forward, all Board meet-
ings—which are open for anybody in the
public to attend—will be held on the second
Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM. The
first meeting for which this new schedule
will take effect will be the March 13th meet-
ing, so whether you are a regular attendee
or wish to make your first appearance,
please mark it on your calendar!
Our next felting class will be held right before St.
Patrick’s Day, and we’ll be having a very festive
craft as a result! On Saturday, March 14th at 11:00
AM, all patrons ages 10 and up are welcome to
come to the library to join us in making a mini lepre-
chaun, which will be a great addition to any house-
hold to get the whole family in the holiday spirit. As
always, all of the materials will be provided, so any-
body who wants to get in on the felting fun should
be sure to register soon!
Our next DIY jewelry class will allow each attendee to
walk away with a trio of lovely earrings. All patrons ages
18 and older are welcome to attend the class on Tuesday,
March 17th at 6:00 PM so they can make themselves a
new accessory. As always, we’ll be providing all the nec-
essary materials
Our Friday Lego Club is one of our most popular programs.
It’s so popular that we thought to ourselves, “Why limit it to
just Fridays?” From now on, our younger patrons can enjoy
some Lego fun on either Thursdays at 6:00 PM or Fridays at
4:00 PM. In either case, we will provide the Legos, so all you
need to bring is your imagination! No registration for these
clubs are necessary; just come in and have fun!
We’ve got a big event coming up—literally! On
Thursday, March 19th at 6:00 PM, we will be
holding a Jumbo Game Night where we will be
playing monster-sized games! Children of all
sizes will have a blast, and we’ll have some
jumbo treats to go along with the festivities.
While the games will be huge, the space is lim-
ited, so please register soon!
