What is plasma?
Plasma is considered as the fourth state of matter.
It does not have any definite shape and volume.
Conducts electricity. By heating plasma ionizes. By applying magnetic field
plasma deflects
Discovery of Plasma
The existence of plasma was first discovered by Sir William Crookes.
He used Crookes tube, an experimental electrical discharge tube in which air is ionized by the application of a high voltage through a voltage coil.
Sir J.J. Thomson, a British physicist, identified the nature of the matter in 1897.
It was not until 1928 that the term “plasma” was coined by Irving Langmuir

Properties of Plasma
Consist of free moving ions and electrons It can be accelerated and steered by electric and
magnetic fields. Stars are predominantly plasma as are most
space and astrophysical objects. Energy is needed to strip electrons from atoms
to make plasma

effective in in vivo antiseptics without affecting surrounding tissue and, moreover, stimulating tissue regeneration.
