Welcome to the Plantronics Connect Program

The Plantronics Connect Program (Plantronics Connect) is a comprehensive program designed to energize our relationships with channel partners through training, programs, sales, marketing and technical support tailored to their specific needs.

The Connect Partner Program Terms and Conditions and other agreements between Plantronics and Connect Partners provide the requirements and benefits for Plantronics Connect participants. This document is a reference guide for Plantronics internal use and also for use by design vendors when creating communications related to Plantronics Connect.

Please use this document as your guide whenever you are creating any communications related to Plantronics Connect, whether you’re building collateral, direct marketing, emails or any other elements. Remember that these guidelines are an internal resource and should not be shared with prospects or customers.

Plantronics Connect Values

Plantronics Connect is a comprehensive partner program and infrastructure designed to give our channel partners the tools they need to continually enhance their skills, strengthen customer relationships and expand into new markets. Plantronics Connect values enhance skills and strengthen relationships.

The cornerstone of Plantronics Connect is a benefits framework that rewards engagement and initiative, not just sales figures. That is why we’ve built Plantronics Connect as a multi-tiered system that encourages a deeper connection between us and our channel partners.

Plantronics Connect Status Levels

The Plantronics Connect tiers allow Plantronics to engage directly with resellers at all levels, but more importantly, they help us focus the appropriate and targeted programs, time and resources where we will get the most return on investment. Naturally, our top-tier performers will receive most of our focus. However, it is important for the lower-level partners to be able to service their own needs.

Advancement from one Plantronics Connect level is not based solely on sales. Plantronics Connect goes deeper, rewarding our channel partners’ initiative in gaining new knowledge, delivering valuable customer feedback to us and pushing the boundaries of conventional sales practices.

To that end, each status level of Plantronics Connect offers a different degree of access and support, as well as an opportunity to engage more deeply with Plantronics as we partner for mutual success.

This chart offers a quick overview of the Plantronics North America Connect Program.

Plantronics Connect Lock-up: Standard Configuration

The source files provided may not be altered in any way.

The words “Plantronics” and “Connect” should always appear as a lockup. The Connect mark should always appear on a white background and clear space requirements must be followed, refer to page 10. Plantronics Connect has one primary typeface: Gesta Medium.

The Plantronics Connect lock-up must appear on the title page of all Plantronics Connect materials and communications to denote and leverage the brand relationship. For sizing rules, please refer to page 11; for placement guidelines, see pages 27-27.

The Plantronics Marketing Manager or project lead will provide graphic assets and photography as needed.

Improper Usage

To protect the visual consistency of the Plantronics Connect lock-up, avoid improper color usage, backgrounds and placement.

Do not place the Plantronics Connect lock-up on top of a busy or distracting image, or close enough to a design object that the space requirements are violated.

The files provided must not be altered in any way other than sizing, with the aspect ratio preserved.

If you have any queries on the logo lock-up treatment, or a requirement for alternative versions please contact the brand team.

DON’T place the Connect mark on abusy or patterned background.

DON’T combine the mark with othershapes or graphics, or reverse the markout of a colored background.

DON’T use non-approved colors. DON’T outline the mark.

Exclusion Zone: Clear-space Requirements

To protect the integrity and consistency of the Plantronics Connect lock-up, a generous amount of clear space must appear around the lock-up. The clear space is determined by the x-height of the mark (shown as x). Do not allow type, colors or any other graphic device into this area.

Minimum Size

While the Plantronics Connect lock-up may be reduced in size, it should maintain legibility and not be printed smaller than 1.5 inches (38.1mm) wide. For onscreen display, the logo should never be less than 108 pixels wide.

Any deviation from the minimum size must be approved by the Brand Team.

Connector Line

The connector line is an alternative graphic for use with the Plantronics Connect lock-up only.

When considering using the connector line, ensure that your design will remain simple and will give space to the Plantronics Connect lock-up and connector line as well as to the copy.

This graphic is generally used to delimit banners and headings, or to highlight key information, when space allows.

The Plantronics Connect lock-up should be at least one third of the width of an asset in order for the connector line to be used.

The connector line should only be used horizontally, and should not interfere with any content.

The connector line must always bleed over the edge of the asset.

The connector line should not be re-created, as the curve is relative to the Connect lock-up when resized.

Color Palette

The Plantronics Connect color system comprises three palettes: core colors, accent colors and neutral colors. These colors were specifically chosen to marry with the Plantronics brand personality, while establishing a unique program identity that stands out on its own. These are the only colors that may be used in any Plantronics Connect communications.

The core colors are the primary colors used in all Plantronics Connect communications. The accent colors can be used to amplify communications and add visual energy. The neutral colors are recommended mostly for typographic applications.

For hyperlinks and calls to action, the Connect green should be used. Please refer to the example on page 27.

For call-out boxes, please note that the accent green must and should only be used on the final page of a document. Call-out boxes elsewhere in the document may use the core and the lightest of the neutral colors.

The existing Plantronics brand colors can be used if a wider palette is needed. For guidance on the Plantronics brand color palette, see the brand guidelines.

Typography

Plantronics Connect has one primary typeface: Gesta. This section provides guidelines for how the typeface should be used. There is flexibility in size, color, shade and weight. A license is required to use this font. If you have a channel partner who wants a cohesive, co-branded look and feel, they should be directed to purchase a license at myfonts.com. Both PC and Mac formats are available. Licensing information can be found at myfonts.com. Click on View license.

Microsoft Office Applications

Use Calibri for all materials created with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The range of weights available includes Regular, Bold and Italic. Calibri comes preinstalled with these Microsoft Office applications for both PC and Mac.

Use Arial for all elements created exclusively for online applications.

Typography continued

By only using one primary typeface, it is important to retain a consistent typographic style and create a clear hierarchy of information within our communications.

The examples opposite illustrate the hierarchy. They do not constitute a designed layout, merely the Plantronics Connect typographic style and colors in principle.

The use of ALL CAPS should only be used sparingly in headlines within documents.

These icons visually identify and support Plantronics Connect programs and partner initiatives. The source files provided should not be altered in any way; each of the wordmarks should be considered as a lock-up with its own dot graphic. The dot graphics can stand alone, however the text element must always be accompanied by the dot graphic.

Plantronics Connect Dots

The hero graphic can be used across all of our assets, print and digital. These should always appear in Plantronics Connect blue, please refer to page 13. We recommend using it on solid backgrounds for maximum clarity, similar to the segment dots. However, segment dots can be used over images, placed in corners of images or placed in corners of assets. They should never be centralized. All of these dot icons can be resized, although they should never overpower or distract from the content and clear asset hierarchy. Furthermore, both the hero graphic and segment dots should never be cropped.

The segment dots should only ever be used with their corresponding Plantronics Connect wordmark or related piece of communication.

Buttons should always be highlighted with the Plantronics Connect accent green with white-out hero dots.

On Twitter, the cut-down version of the hero graphic illustrated here should be used on a white background.

World Map

The world map graphic is built up of light grey dots. This graphic can be used over both print and digital assets. Images and text can be overlaid on the world map graphic as long as there is a clear contrast between the two. This vector graphic can be used to highlight regions and as asset decoration.

The Plantronics Brand Guidelines govern the use of photography for the Plantronics Connect Program. All rules from these guidelines apply.

The Plantronics Connect Program does allow for limited use of conceptual stock photography. See samples on the following pages. Plantronics lifestyle images should be used whenever possible.

Note that the Plantronics Marketing Manager or project lead must submit any new or project-specific stock photography to Brand Review for approval, prior to publication.

Trademark rights will last forever if they are properly maintained and protected. Improper use of trademarks can result in the damage and even loss of trademark rights, so it is important to follow our usage guidelines.

The Plantronics Authorized Partner badge and the Connect mark are authorized for use by Plantronics Authorized Resellers only, and in accordance with the Plantronics Trademark Usage Guidelines. The Plantronics Authorized Distributor badge is authorized for use by Plantronics Authorized Distributors only and in accordance with the Distributor Agreement. In the event the distributor’s status changes, they must stop all use of the badge in accordance with the terms of the Distributor Agreement.
