Plantation and Cleanliness Drives Under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2019

Plantation drive at SC 48033 Agrasen Kanya PG College Permanandpur Varanasi. Plantation drive for one student one tree programme was organized by IGNOU LSC 48033 at Permanandpur Village, Varanasi under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. IGNOU learners along with Counsellors and LSC staff planted Cassia, Teak plants at the public place near pond of the village. Students were sensitized for conservation of environment and motivated to plant saplings on their memorable occasion in the name of their ancestors.

Plantation drive was carried out at LSC 48042, Raja Balavant Singh PG College Rajatalab

Varanasi on 06.10.2019 under One student one tree campaign. Students have been made aware

about environmental concerns by involving them in planting saplings of Mango and Jackfruit at

the LSC premises. Coordinator and LSC staffs deserve our special thanks for organizing such

programme.

Plantation drive at SC 27109 Department of Education, B.H.U. Varanasi

Plantation drive under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan campaign was organized at LSC 27109 on

25.8.2019 and students were sensitized to plant at least one tree every year on his/her birthday

and observe how many birthday plant flourish very smoothly. Enthusiasm and excitement of

students on the issue is the source of inspiration for us to organize more events at other LSCs

too.

Plantation drive at with Lokbandhu Rajnarayan Government Girls Inter College, Tikari,Varanasi

IGNOU Regional Center, Varanasi, in collaboration with Lokbandhu Rajnarayan Government Girls Inter College, Tikari,Varanasi organized awareness campaign, rally and plantation program and plastic-free village under Unnat Bhart Abhiyan on 24.9.2019 . Regional Director, Dr. U N Tripathi, Village head Shusheel Singh, Principal Deepa Jaiswal, and other teachers of the school including students, participated in the program. In the program, students were explained in detail about the learning opportunities, and programs facilities available in IGNOU Regional Centre Varanasi and requested to share information to the needy Villages.

An awareness program organized at former secondary school of Adopted village Tikri, Varanasi

An awareness program was organized by IGNOU on 2nd October 2019 in the Higher Secondary School of Adopted village Tikri, Varanasi. Under the program "Swachhata hi Seva" which was presided over by the village head Mr. Sushil Kumar Singh cleanliness drive was taken. Dr. Sanjay Kumar & Dr. Shravan Pandey Assistant Regional Director participated in the program and motivated the children to play their own role to promote hygiene and give away single use plastic. The headmistress of the school, Mrs. Nandini, gave a very good social message through the importance of cleanliness, and a street play was performed by children. At the end of the programme, the school children gave a grand performance of the yoga.

Plantation drive at SC 48044 Darul Uloom Habibiya Rizbia Gopiganj, Bhadohi

IGNOU Regional Center Varanasi and IGNOU Study Center 48044 Darul Uloom Habibia Madrasa organized a plantation program on 14.9.19 in the study center campus under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. Plantation was also carried out on the occasion with participation by students of the study center and academic Counsellors of IGNOU. The Principal of the institute, Shri Mukhtar Rizvi, inspired the youth to conserve the values given by God, while Dr. Shravan Pandey and Shri Awadhesh Pandey emphasized on making their important days not only memorable by planting specific trees but also motivating them to borrow from nature's debt. Coordinator Mr. Imtiyaz Ansari thanked everyone and expressed the need for more similar programs in future.

Cleanliness Awareness Program organized at Adopted village Madheipur, Harhua Block in collaboration with SC 48037D under IGNOU Regional Center Varanasi

A Cleanliness Awareness Program was organized in Adopted village Madheipur, Harhua Block in collaboration with SC 48037D under IGNOU Regional Center Varanasi. About 50 people from the village including IGNOU students participated in the event. In the program, information was given about discouraging the use of plastic, sanitation in government institutions as well as composting for the management of organic waste and a sanitation rally was also organized. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, ARD, Dr. S. K. Pandey, Dr. Alka Singh Coordinator 48037D and Sushil Singh etc. expressed their views in the meeting and appealed the students for active cooperation in the cleanliness campaign.
