PLANT TISSUES
DERMAL/PROTECTIVE (DÉRMICO)
• Protective tissue covers the surface of leaves and the living cells of roots and stems.
VASCULAR• Vascular tissue
transport nutrients, water, and sugars around the plant.
VASCULAR:XYLEM
• Xylem conducts water and dissolved minerals from the roots to all the other parts of the plant.
VASCULAR:PHLOEM
• Phloem transports the sugars and other molecules created by plant photosynthesis.
GROUND (FUNDAMENTAL)
• All tissues that are neither (no son) dermal nor (ni) vascular.
• It can be divided into three classes.
GROUNDPARENCHYMA
• Food storage
• Photosynthesis (with chloroplasts)
GROUNDSCLERENCHYMA
• Give mechanical support.
• Is found in stems and in leaf veins.
• Makes up the hard outer covering of seeds and nuts.
GROUNDCOLLENCHYMA
• They are in areas that are growing rapidly and need to be strengthened.
