CENTENNIAL OLYMPIC PARK ATTRACTIONSAside from the Center for Civil and Human Rights and the park grounds themselves, Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park is full of wonderful activities and attractions for your family to enjoy.

Families with curious children will love the Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the world. The aquarium is home to tens of thousands of species of sealife and offers a number of excellent programs, even a shark diving experience. This unique facility has a variety of state-of-the-art exhibits and makes for an entertaining, intriguing and educational adventure for the whole family, including scheduled group and family sleepovers. On top of its excellent visitor programming, it’s a leading facility for aquatic animal conservation and research.

Learn everything there is to know about the world’s favorite fizzy beverage (except the secret recipe, of course) with a trip to The World of Coca-Cola Museum. This two-story museum is full of fun and colorful exhibits and interactive activities that let everyone explore the milestones of the Coca-Cola Company. Taste beverages from around the globe, check out the 4-D movie, take pictures with the famous Coca-Cola Polar Bear, and so much more.

Another wonderful place to take the family is the Zoo Atlanta which is spread out over 40 acres of forests and greenery close to downtown Atlanta and Turner Field. The zoo houses more than 1,000 animals from over 200 different species, including the largest troupe of gorillas and collection of orangutans in the U.S. It is also one of the few places in the U.S. where visitors can see the ever adorable panda bears, two babies were born there as recently as 2013.

Natural history museums are almost always worth the visit when traveling with families and the Fernbank Museum of Natural History is no exception. The innovative exhibits allow children to interactively explore and experience natural history, but parents will also find themselves equally engaged. Don’t forget to catch an IMAX movie performance.

FOX THEATERAn Atlanta mainstay attraction is the beautiful Fox Theater. This old time, classic movie palace is a wonder with its immaculate, breathtaking decor and a wide variety of programming. The theater offers hour-long guided tours for those interested in learning about the history of the old theater, but visitors can take in the grandeur just as easily during programming. Shows range from children’s options like Sesame Street Live to more adult concerts and musical performances.

PROFESSIONAL SPORTS GAMESAtlanta is an exciting location for sports fans of all ages, particularly during the baseball season when the Atlanta Braves play many games at Turner Field. Arrive early and you’ll have the opportunity to attend pre-game entertainment as well as visit the Braves Museum and Hall of Fame. Basketball games are also regular activity at Phillips Arena and football fans can turn up at the Georgia Dome for a Falcons game.

SWEET AUBURN CURB MARKETIn between all the Atlanta activities everyone will surely get hungry and when they do, you’ll want to make your way towards the Atlanta Sweet Auburn Curb Market. It’s located inside the Municipal Market and features a number of favorite Atlanta eateries serving up everything from sweet organic fruits and vegetables to burgers and fries. The Curb Market is a stop on Atlanta’s new Streetcar, connecting many of downtown’s attractions. This free mode of transportation can be picked up at any of their many stops like Centennial Park, King Center, Curb Market and the Ellis Hotel.

LUXURY AUTO HEADQUARTERSBack in early January, leading luxury car manufacturer Mercedes Benz confirmed they would bringing their U.S. Headquarters to the metro Atlanta area. The manufacturer will open their new, state-of-the-art 12-acre campus in the coming months, and just signed a deal cementing their stay in Atlanta by purchasing the naming rights to the new Atlanta Falcons stadium to be opening for action in 2017. Mercedes Benz is not the first luxury dealer to come to the city, as the brand will be joining Porsche as the second luxury auto manufacturer to call the city its home. At Porsche Cars North America, visitors can take part in the ultimate driving experience, testing out the latest Porsche models or tuning their own endurance at the Human Performance Center.
