Props

A prop that was used was a Line 6 amp that was sat in the model’s bedroom, it’s quite big and made a good background from him to be against as it contrasts and relates to the shoot musically.

The bed relates to the shoot as it’s intimate, so shots capturing the model laying on the bed, make the photos more warm and welcoming and make them seem revealing, giving the consumers a sense of Personal Identity.

The model’s guitar was an ideal prop to use as it was a good show of the musician in action, and as he’s busy playing he’s not posing or looking at the camera so the photos were more relaxed.

OutfitThe model was wearing all of his own clothes, a black t-shirt, a band shirt, for the metal band “Slipknot”, good for consumers as it promotes to them the band and again gives the a chance of Personal Identity with the musician.

The model was also wearing a simple pair of jogging bottoms, showing that the model is comfortable and as these are very lounge-y and home-y trousers for him, gives a relaxed vibe to the consumers the socks and the trackies give a welcoming and private look, like he’s leeting us in to his life an trusting us more.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Look around the location. Yes -Personal to the model-Model’s room

Talk to people there, organise filming permissions. Yes -Model gave permission

Do a test sound/video recording and check for potential noise problems Yes -No noise pollution, suburb area.

Confirm times and dates with technical crew/actors or anybody you are interviewing, etc.

Yes -Confirmed times with the model two week before, two days before and two hours before.

Arrange car parking, access, loading, security, where possible. Yes Drive on the house, private location and no attention so no need for security.

Make sure everybody concerned with your video production knows what is happening and what is expected of them when on location.

N/A -Just me at the home

Location ImagesAs the location was the model’s own bedroom it was very personal and very honest, it wasn’t staged and was good for the style of article I wanted the pictures to feature in, which is planned to be a very honest and clear image from a music artist providing insight and using the uses and gratifications theory by saying that consumers need Personal Identity and this can be gained through relating to a person, so I wanted an intimate setting to make the person more realistic and less fake.

For my magazine title I have decided to use the title of Pulse, it’s short, snappy, easy to remember and catchy, it also relates to music by the beat (pulse). Out of the fonts I looked at, I chose three fonts that I looked at and asked for audience feedback on what they thought, and the second choice was clear favourite. I agree that the second font is best as it’s bold and clear, and very eye catching, it would stand out against a background more so than the other fonts and is most suitable for a title.
