Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) is a non-profit corporation organized exclusively for the benefit of the City of Philadelphia and its citizens. DRWC acts as the steward of the Delaware River Waterfront to provide a benefit to all of the citizens of and visitors to the city.

The fundamental purpose of DRWC is to design, develop and manage the central Delaware River Waterfront in Philadelphia between Oregon and Allegheny Avenues. DRWC intends to transform the central Delaware River Waterfront into a vibrant destination location for recreational, cultural, and commercial activities for the residents and visitors of Philadelphia.

DRWC will serve as a catalyst for high quality investment in public parks, trails, maritime, residential, retail, hotel and other improvements that create a vibrant amenity, extending Philadelphia to the river’s edge.

DRWC is open, transparent and accountable in connection with its operations and activities with respect to the Waterfront. Through the judicious use of financing, land acquisition and development capabilities, the Corporation will work cooperatively with city, state and federal agencies to ensure the realization of the City’s vision for the central Delaware River.

FROM THE NORTHTo Festival Pier Take I-95 South to Exit 22 (676/Central Philadelphia / Independence Hall / Callowhill Street). Exit will split, follow 676 East / Callowhill Street. At the light at the end of the ramp, make a left onto Callowhill Street. Follow Callowhill Street approximately 3 blocks where it ends at Columbus Boulevard. Make a left onto Columbus Boulevard. Festival Pier is 0.2 miles down on right.

To Great Plaza Take I-95 South to Exit 20 (Columbus Boulevard/ Washington Avenue). Exit to left, stay in left lane, and make a left at the end of the ramp onto Columbus Boulevard. The Residences at Dockside will be on your right. Remain straight for approximately 1/2 mile. Enter Great Plaza on right at Walnut Street or Market Street (Penn’s Landing).

FROM THE SOUTHTake I-95 North to Exit 20 (Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue/Penn’s Landing). At the end of the ramp, make a left onto Columbus Boulevard.

To Great Plaza Remain straight for approximately 1 mile. Enter Great Plaza on right at Walnut Street or Market Street (Penn’s Landing).

To Festival Pier Stay straight on Columbus Boulevard and go past the Great Plaza for 1/2 mile. Festival Pier will be on the right.

FROM THE EASTFrom Ben Franklin Bridge Stay in the right lane. At the end of the bridge, make a quick right on the 5th Street Exit. Follow 5th Street to Spring Garden Street, and make a right. Follow Spring Garden Street 5 blocks to Columbus Boulevard.

To Festival Pier Make a right onto Columbus Boulevard. Festival Pier will be immediately on your left.

To Great Plaza Make a right onto Columbus Boulevard. The Great Plaza will be approximately 1/2 mile down on the left. Enter on left at Market Street (Penn’s Landing) or Walnut Street.

FROM THE WESTTake 76 East to the Central Philadelphia Exit (676 East/Vine Street Expressway Exit). Follow 676 East to 95 South (Chester/ Philadelphia Int’l Airport). Follow 95 South to Exit 20 (Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue). Follow directions for from the north.

BY BUSSepta Bus RoutesTo Great Plaza 21, 33 and 42 stop at the Great Plaza. Routes 17 and 48 stop at Front and Market Streets. From there, head East over the Market Street Bridge. The Great Plaza will be on the right.

To Festival Pier 25, 43 and 5 stop at Second and Spring Garden Streets. From there, head East toward Columbus Boulevard. Cross Columbus Boulevard to Festival Pier.

Convenient and affordable parking is available at a variety of locations along the Waterfront. Monthly parking passes and group rates are available. Please visit our website for more information.

BY RAILMaking the free interchange connection generated from many points at the 15th Street Station, take the Market-Frankford Elevated Line (the Blue line) to:

To Great Plaza The Second Street stop. From there, head East over the Market Street Bridge. The Great Plaza will be on the right.

To Festival Pier The Spring Garden stop. From there, head East towards Columbus Boulevard. Make a right onto Columbus Boulevard. Festival Pier will be on the left.

BY FOOTFrom the Historic District and Old City, head East on either Market, Chestnut, Walnut or South Streets. Cross Front Street and walk over the pedestrian walkways.

To Great Plaza Located straight head at Columbus Boulevard and Chestnut Street.

To Festival Pier Continue North on Columbus Boulevard. Festival Pier will be on the right hand side, approximately 1/2 mile from the Great Plaza.

BY PLASHThe Phlash Downtown Loop runs from Penn’s Landing to the Philadelphia Museum of Art to the Please Touch Museum and the Philadelphia Zoo. With stops at or near many of the City’s most popular hotels and attractions along the way, Phlash is the convenient and inexpensive way to get around Philadelphia. Phlash runs from May 1 through October 31, 2011 with daily service every 15 minutes (9:30AM - 6:00PM). It’s easy with 27 stops in Center City Philadelphia. It’s inexpensive at only $2 per person per ride. An individual all-day pass is just $5, and an all-day family pass (two adults and two children ages 6-17) is just $10. INDEPENDENCE BLAST WEEKEND! ON THE WATERFRONTJuly 2, 3 & 4

Visitors to the Delaware River Waterfront will experience a jam packed 4th of July weekend of family fun! This ultimate Patriotic weekend will feature concerts, ice cream, and more opportunities to enjoy fireworks than ever before!

A U.S. Navy Frigate Ship will be docked at Penn’s Landing and open for public tours throughout the weekend.

Presenting military-themed concerts on both sides of the river. The RiverStage at Penn’s Landing will feature the United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” while Wiggins Waterfront Park in Camden will feature the Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic. These concerts will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display choregraphed to a musical soundtrack simulcast on KYW Newsradio and launched from a barge in the middle of the river.

Winding from the Pier 70 shopping center to Washington Avenue, the trail’s completion is the first phase in a plan that will extend it north and ultimately to connect to the trail being built on the north Delaware. The trail creates a safe alternative to the busy traffic of Columbus Boulevard, opens up wonderful views of the waterfront and links to the Schuylkill River trail via Center City’s successful Pine and Spruce Street bike lanes. Opened in May 2010, it was the first in a series of renovations and new projects to realize the civic vision for Philadelphia’s Central Delaware waterfront.

This new park space has replaced the impervious surfaces with woodland stands, meadows of native grasses and wildflowers, made improvements to the existing trail and addressed localized stormwater run-off and water quality. The International Sculpture Garden is located between Dock and Spruce Streets along the Delaware River. It was originally dedicated in 1976 as part of the American bicentennial celebration. The two-acre garden currently serves as a passive riverfront park space, pending the reintegration of ancient and ethnographic sculptures from around the world that celebrate the impact of other cultures on the American experience.
