THE UNIVERSITY

The YMCA University Of Science & Technology,

Faridabad (erstwhile YMCA Institute Of Engineering)

was established in the year 1969, as a joint venture of

National Council of YMCAs of India, Government of

Haryana and the Central Agencies for Development Aid,

Bonn, Germany. It started as an Anglo German Project

with an aim to impart technical education to a developing

India in German pattern. The labs and workshops have

been set up with the assistance of German Expertise.

The YMCA University was established by Act XXI, of 2009 as a state University on 01/12/2009.

Currently we are offering graduate Engineering degree and post-graduate courses including MBA,

M.Tech & MCA. The University offers:-

The students are admitted to the university strictly on the basis of their merit in All India Engineering

Entrance Exam (AIEEE) for B.Tech, State Level Combined Entrance Test for MCA and GATE for

M.Tech & MAT for MBA Program.

INFRASTRUCTURE

COMPREHENSIVE LIBRARY

The focal point of the university is the well-stocked library having more than 50,000 books of the

latest editions, foreign & Indian journals and periodicals in all fields of engineering, and other general

areas, audio-video cassettes and CD-ROMs. It has ample space with a seating capacity of about 100

students. The library has internet facility and a Digital Library is also in use.

RESIDENTIALITY

One of the key contributors to university and effective learning experience is living on

campus. There are four boys' and two girls' hostel inside the University campus. Each hostel

has common room with facilities like Wi-Fi internet, magazines and basic recreational

facilities, which provide students with a homely atmosphere that strengthens the feeling of

belongingness to the family. Three mess with seating capacity of 200 students each provide

nutritious food at reasonable prices.

HEALTH CENTRE The university has full time MBBS doctor and a part time lady doctor. Health centre provides

Consultation and treatment for common ailments.

CANTEEN

The YMCA campus has a canteen facility with a plethora of options to cater to the palates and budget

of students.

AUDITORIUM

For organizing various events & functions at the national level, the university campus has a big

auditorium with a seating capacity of 600 students. The university has also an Open Air Theatre -

SHAKUNTALAM for various events, which are organized on a regular basis.

CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HALL

The University has a well-equipped conference & seminar hall.

the current need of the industry and to provide the opportunity to graduates for acquiring

specialized knowledge, the University started the course of MASTER OF BUSINESS

Admission Procedure to MBA

The MBA programme accepts candidates with bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

Candidates are shortlisted based on the

MAT scores, followed by Haryana State Counseling Society, Panchkula

Evaluation Procedure of the University

Evaluation is a continuous process at YMCA.

The grading system followed at the University

is as follows: A student’s performance is assessed by the grade point average for the number of credits earned by

the student. On obtaining a pass grade, the student earns credit for the courses taken. The

performance of a student is evaluated in terms of following two indices.

SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average)

CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average)

The CGPA is a grade point average for all the completed semesters.
