The Company

PLB-KH Bina Sdn Bhd (“PKH/ The Company”) is a wholly owned subsidiary of PLB Engineering Berhad; a public-listed company on Bursa Malaysia. PKH is the construction arm and one of the major revenue contributor to PLB Engineering Berhad.

The Company had its inception in 1973 when it commenced business in foundry works, steel fabrication, and the fabrication of machinery parts. To date, PKH has grown to be a premier contractor with a paid up capital of RM20 million. The company is registered as a PKK-Class A, CIDB Grade G7 and SPAN Type C1 contractor thereby allowing the Company to undertake building construction projects of unlimited value. PKH has also been certified by Sirim QAS Sdn Bhd of MS ISO: 9001 : 2008 for Provision of Construction Services In Building and Civil Engineering Works and Design Coordination and Management of Turnkey Projects.

PKH can add value to your construction requirements with the support of our experienced professionals led by the Executive Chairman, Dato' Ong Choo Hoon who has been involved in the construction and property development industries for more than 30 years. In the area of project planning, redesigning and operations management, Dato' Dr. Ong Seng Soon, the Managing Director of PKH, leads a well-balanced team of engineers and project managers.

Financial Highlights

PKH has had an average turnover of RM 100 million per year for the past 5 financial years. Our average shareholders' fund and total assets for the past 5 financial years are RM35.9 million and RM90.9 million respectively. In addition, the Company is on a sound financial footing to assume sizeable projects with the strong back- up of our principal bankers.

PLB-KH Bina Sdn Bhd (“PKH/ the Company”) was incorporated in Malaysia on 22 August 1985 as a private limited company. The Company is a wholly subsidiary of PLB Engineering Berhad; a public-listed company on Bursa Malaysia with a paid-up capital of RM 91.3 million.

The principal activity of PKH is the construction of buildings and infrastructure in the industrial, commercial, hotel and residential sectors. PKH provides designing, planning and management support services in civil engineering, structural and piling projects. The Company has also accumulated experience and expertise in the management of Turnkey projects where we provide a comprehensive package of services in design, construction and project management. To date, PKH has undertaken a multitude of construction projects of various designs and structures throughout the nation. The strong foundation and experience of PKH's management team in the construction industry has been honed for more than 30 years since 1973. Led by Dato' Ong Choo Hoon, the Executive Chairman of PKH and the founder of the company, the Company's business commenced with steel and metal fabrication and later expanded into construction in 1976. Currently, the day to day operations, planning and strategic management come under the purview of Dato' Dr. Ong Seng Soon, the Managing Director, who has propelled the Company to greater heights with construction as the prime contributor.

PKH is registered as a PKK Class A , CIDB Grade G7 and SPAN Type C1 contractor which allows the Company to tender and participate in the construction of government and private projects of unlimited value. In the course of providing quality constructions to meet the discerning requirements of our clients, we have adopted standardized procedures through a proven Quality Management System. PKH is the first construction-based company to be certified by Sirim QAS Sdn Bhd of the MS:ISO 9001 : 2008 standard under the scope of Provision of Construction Services in Building and Civil Engineering Works and Design Coordination and Management of Turnkey Projects.

Our network of cemented partnerships with architects, consultants and specialist contractors in the various related fields enables us to service the total project requirements of our clients.

Management Team

With over 40 years of experience in the construction industry, the Group Executive Chairman Dato' Ong Choo Hoon, plays an important role in the company. On the day-to-day management, he is supported by a strong team of qualified engineers and professionals who have proven track record in the construction industry.

DATO' ONG CHOO HOON, aged 74, is the Group Executive Chairman. He is the founder of the PLB Group and has more than 52 years of experience in the machinery, engineering and construction industry. He was actively involved in machine engineering contracts and provision of maintenance services from 1962 to 1975 before he subsequently ventured into the construction business in 1976. Dato' Ong Choo Hoon has also embarked on a number of successful property development projects over the years. He represents PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. as the patron of the Penang State Foundry and Engineering Industries Association. He is responsible for the overall management and strategic planning of the Group. Currently, he also sits on the board of several private limited companies.

DATO' DR. RICKSON ONG, aged 48 is the Managing Director. He holds a degree of Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Construction Management from Clayton University, United States of America. He joined PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd as a Site Engineer in 1989 and was responsible for the site and construction management of all major construction projects undertaken by the Company. Since his appointment to the Board of PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhdand the Company, his in-depth knowledge of the construction industry has contributed significantly to the growth and the expansion of PLB Group. Dato' Dr. Rickson Ong oversees the operations management, corporate development and marketing for the PLB Group.

Dato' Dr. Rickson Ong is the Chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee and Chairman of various working committees in the Group. He is a Major (Associate Officer) of the Department of Civil Defence Malaysia (Ministry of Internal Security), a Member of the Board of Engineers of Malaysia, a Graduate Member of the Institute of Engineers, Malaysia, Vice President of Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce, represent as PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhdan Alternate Committee Member of Penang Master Builders & Building Materials Dealers Association and Director of Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association and Honorary Director of Jemaah Pengurus SMJK Heng Ee.

ONG GUAT BENG, aged 55, is an Executive Director. She joined PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd.(PKH) in 1977 to assist Dato' Ong Choo Hoon to oversee on operations of PKH. She has over 36 years of working experience in purchasing, accounting and office administration. Subsequently, she was specially assigned to oversee the Finance and Human Resource and Administration Departments. Currently, she oversees the Human Resource, Procurement, Maintenance and Internal Audit Departments of the Company. Madam Ong Guat Beng also assists the Group Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director in the overall operations and management of the Company especially in site management, financial management, human resource management, property development, etc. Currently, she also sits on the board of several private limited companies within the Group.

HAPPY NG, aged 52, is an Executive Director. He graduated from Tunku Abdul Rahman College with a Diploma in Technology (Building) in 1982. He joined the Company in 1989 as Quantity Surveyor and was then promoted to General Manager of Contract Department in 1997 and to the board in 1999. With more than 28 years of experience in contract administration, contract management, business development and property management, he is responsible to lead the Project Administration and Quality System Management & Contract Department.

IR. TIU JON HUI, aged 50, acts as a Project Director for PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. He is a registered member of The Institution Of Engineers, Malaysia and registered Professional Engineer with the Board Of Engineers Malaysia. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from University Technology Malaysia in 1987. He has involved on both technical and management of various types of project ranging from industrial, residential, commercial, mix-development and high-rise building and infrastructure projects in his over 25 years of working experience in construction industry.

IDERUS BIN MAT IBRAHIM, aged 47 is a Senior Project Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from University of Southwestern Louisiana, USA in 1988. He has more than 22 years of working experience in the construction industry and involved in many building and infrastructure projects. He joined PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. in 2006.

NANCE SOON TET SIM, aged 59, is the Senior Procurement Manager. She graduated in Master of Business Administration from Southern Pacific University, United States of America in 2003. In 1999, she joined the Company to head the Procurement Department in the areas of Purchasing, Store and Facilities, which consist of a fleet of Machineries / Plant and Equipment. Under her supervision, the Department expanded to include Trading of construction material and Rental / Services of Plant / Equipment in 2000. She has over 40 years of experience in procurement in both Industrial and Construction field.

CHEW POH CHIEW, aged 51 is an Assistant Project Manager. He holds a Diploma In Architectural Draughtmanship from Federal Institute Of Technology in 1983. He has more than 30 years of working experience in the construction industry and involved in many mix-development and high-rise projects. He joined PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. in 1999.

ONG OOI BOON, aged 49, is the Site Manager. He joined the Company on year 1990 and was subsequent promoted to the current position in year 2000. With 23 years working experience in construction field and as a qualified Site Supervisor that certified by Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia (CIDB).

GOBINATHAN A/L KRISHNAN, aged 43, is the Quality Control Manager. He joined the Company since 1993 and was promoted to the current position. He has 20 years of working experience in construction field especially in handling the maintenance and repair of defect work for various projects. He is also a certified personnel by Malaysian Water Association for confined space entrance and a qualified Site Supervisor that certified by CIDB..

ALAGU A/L AYASAMY, aged 52 is an Assistant Site Manager for PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. He joined the Company since year 1993 and has involved in various types of project including high-rise and mix-development in his 35 years of working experience in construction industry. He is a qualified Site Supervisor that certified by CIDB.

AZIS RAHMAN BIN A NAINA MOHAMED, aged 40 is a Site Manager for PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. He joined the Company since year 1993 and has involved in various types of project including high-rise and mix-development in his 20 years of working experience in construction industry. He is a qualified Site Supervisor that certified by CIDB.

TAN LEE KEAN, aged 27 is the Senior Quantity Surveyor of the Company. She is holding a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Housing, Building and Planning, majoring in Quantity Surveying from the Universiti Sains Malaysia. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, she is responsible for handling the quantity surveying work of the project assigned. She has been involved in many pre and post contract job for for 4 years various projects ranging from industrial building to mix-development. She joined PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. in year 2010.

PARAMESVARAN A/L NARAYANAN, aged 42, is the M&E Coordinator. He is holding a Certificate in Intermediate Electrical (Domestic and Industrial). He joined the Company in 1997 and has been responsible for the wiring and electrical work for various projects ranging from industrial building, commercial building, mix-development and high-rise project for the past 23 years. He is a qualified Site M&E Supervisor that certified by CIDB.

HAZARUDDIN BIN MOHAMED ZAHID, is the Site Safety Supervisor for the Company. Aged at 40, he is holding a Certificate in Industrial Skill in Brick Laying & Tile Fixture. He is a qualified Site Supervisor that certified by CIDB with 18 years experience in construction industry. He is responsible to assist in supervision on the construction work at site. He has obtained Certificate of Competency in Site Safety Supervisor Course on November 2012 and Yellow Book from DOSH as certified Site Safety Supervisor on May 2013.

KHAIRUL AZWAN BIN ABD KHAIR, aged 31 is the Site Safety Supervisor for PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. He is holding a Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health by Ranaco Education & Training Institute. He joined the Company on January 2013 and is responsible for overall safety issues of projects assigned and Head Quarter Office as well as assist in site supervision work. Before he joined the company, he was an Industrial Trainee for Safety & Health with PLB-KH Bina Sdn Bhd.

ADNAN BIN ELIAS, aged 28 is the Site Supervisor of the company. He is holding a Certificate in Architectural Draughtsmanship from College Community Bandar Darulaman. He joined PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. on September 2013. Before he joined the company, he was an Assistant Project Manager with TAA Housing Sdn. Bhd.

LEE YONG SIANG, aged 24 is the Site Engineer of the company. He joined PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. on September 2013 after obtained his Degree in Civil Engineering with First Class Honours from University Malaysia Sarawak. Before he joined the company, he has engaged with PLB Green Construction Sdn. Bhd. for three months of internship and has demonstrated his enthusiasm and commitment on engineering work successfully.

TAN LEE YONG, aged 27 is the Assistant Site Manager of the company. He is holding an Executive Diploma in Business Management from University Utara Malaysia. He joined PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. on September 2013 and is responsible for site management. Before he joined the company, he was a Site Supervisor from Daya CMT Sdn Bhd.

MARDZUKHI BIN ABU BAKAR, aged 57, is an Executive Director and oversees the business development of the Group. He obtained a Certificate in Building Structural Draughtsmanship from MARA Institute in 1979 and subsequently, a Diploma in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration and Management in 2002. Besides that, he is also a certified Safety and Health Officer by National Institute Of Occupational Safety And Health (NIOSH).He has been involved in the construction industry for more than 32 years. Prior to joining PLB-KH in 1997, he was a Project Manager of Gurun Corporation Sdn. Bhd. from 1990 to 1992. He was appointed as a Councillor to Majlis Perbandaran Seberang Perai from 1989 to 1990. On April 2008, he has further obtained his fellowship from The International Management Association, London ie. F.I.M.A (UK). Currently, he oversees the Safety and Security Department of the Company and also sits on the board of several private limited companies within the Group.

PHEE POH SUAN, aged 45, is the Senior Finance Manager of the Company. She graduated from Tunku Abdul Rahman College in 1993. She joined the Company since 2003 and was promoted to the current position in 2007. She has more than 20 years of working experience. Prior to the current position, she was with a Property Developer Company with the last held position as Finance Manager. She is an associate member of Chartered Institute Of Management Accountants.
