Pixie Lott (real name, Victoria Louise Lott) was born on the 12th of January 1991. She is an English singer-songwriter, an actress and also a dancer. She was signed to Mercury Records in the UK and Interscope Records in the US. Her début single ‘Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)’ was released for download on the 6th of June, and physically on the 8th of June, her single went straight to number one in the UK on the 14th of June 2009. She then followed up this song by releasing her song, ‘Boys and Girls’ on the 5th of September which gave Pixie her second UK chart topper, again reaching the number one spot on the 13th of September 2009. Her album ‘Turn It Up’ was then released shortly after on the 14th September 2009 and peaked at number six on the UK Albums Chart.One of the main reasons that I think Pixie is such a unique new artist today is mainly because of her voice, she seems to have such a rich sound to her voice yet its combined by the depth and maturity expected from someone a lot older although her teenage pop princess attitude still shines through, coming from the mouth of a singer so perfectly packaged that people call her Pixie. She has become so successful at just the age of 18 and has only been going clubbing without her older sister's ID for a mere few months. She has been known to say that she wants to be able to achieve songs that change peoples lives in the future. Pixie Lott has many talents that make her so appealing to such a wide variety of audiences, she has an outstanding voice, a style to her that raises eyebrows, a great dancing ability and an amazing ability to write feet tapping songs, she is certain to go far. Her first single ‘MamaDo’ seems to put across her rich vocals and her young bubbly personality, the video is about a young teenage girl sneaking out in night on hot dates, this song was written with the songwriters,Phil Thornalley and Mads Hauge. This video just overflows with excitement and the fun of a young girls night. Pixie’s talent was first noticed by her record signers and many other people that took an interest in her and her musical talent, through her demo posts on herMySpace page, which has lead to her success so far. She’s such a fresh and original young star and Is sure to go far in the future.
