Message from the Head
On the 03.02.20, the whole school were entertained by M&M Theatre Company and their production of Robin Hood. It was a high energy production full of singing, dancing and jokes. All of the pupils enjoyed getting involved and laughing at the teachers who were called up to dance. It was a fantastic way to start our week and as always, M&M always entertain us . . . and they didn’t disappoint this year.
“My favourite character was the Duke of Rottingham . . . oh, I mean Nottingham. He was a great actor and very funny” Sam KS4.

Pupils in KS2 enjoyed a walk around
the local area on the 23.01.20 to
consolidate learning in geography and
science. They really enjoyed seeing
the animals and places they had been
learning about and even got to feed
the ducks.
Happy New Year and welcome back. Firstly, I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas, plenty of excitement and happy children. Secondly, I'd like to say thank you to the parents that are really trying hard this term to get their children to school on time, it makes such a difference for the teaching staff at the start of the day. As we roll into 2020, a new decade and fresh start, I hope to welcome you all into school on many occasions over the coming months. As is normal we have a number of events, coffee mornings, parent engagement and sporting events planned throughout the school year all of which are publicised via the school website under the ‘calendar’ section - it is always a pleasure to see families join us at these events. Parents may be aware that we are renewing our ‘Leading Parent Partnership Award’ in July 2020 and if there are any parents that would like to get involved when the assessor is here please let me know.
Matters!
On the 04.02.20 we were fortunate to
have ‘John the Potter’ come into
school to work with every child from
4-19 to create their own design based
on images from nature and taking
inspiration from ancient civilisation in
readiness for our entry into the Spring
RHS show at Malvern. We cannot wait
to see the final tiles when they are
fired.

“Learning and Growing Together”
Pupils have been learning about the cost of homes as part of their Functional Skills lessons as well as the role of estate agents. They created ‘model bedrooms’ following specific instructions which required them to use their measuring skills as well as designing and creating ‘For Sale’ posters which they went on to present to their peers. On the 22.01.20 the students then proudly presented all of their hard work to the Headteacher.

Pupils following the Care option in
14-19 had a visit from Geraldine, a
Blue Cross volunteer on the 23.01.20
to discuss pet welfare and responsible
pet ownership. Pupils brought in
donations of food and bedding for
animals at the local rescue centre.
Geraldine was really pleased to
receive the donation and said how
impressed she was with the students
and how they conducted themselves
throughout.
On the 26.01.20 pupils attended the
BBL Cup Finals 2020 at Arena
Birmingham. This was a great
opportunity to watch an elite sport
and for pupils to develop their
basketball knowledge. On the day in
the women’s final the Sevenoaks Suns
beat Durham Palatinates 74-64, whilst
in the men’s final the Worcester
Wolves were victorious against the
Bristol Flyers 67-59. Everyone had a
thoroughly enjoyable day and look
forward to the finals in 2021.
