A. PISA – THE LEANING TOWER OF PISA
• Pisa was one of the 4 maritime republics in Italy in the middle Ages
• The city is famous for the “Leaning Tower of Pisa”
B. CASCINA – THE WAR OF CASCINA
• On 29th July 1364 there was a battle between the troops of Pisa and Florence which ended with the victory of the Florentine.
• In 1504 Michelangelo Buonarroti was commissioned for the hall of the 14th
Century in the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence to create a mural with scenes from the battle, but it has not been realized
C. PONTEDERA – THE BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER ERA
• In World War II the city was heavily bombed and damaged because of their essential war industries
• The Museo Piaggio "Giovanni Alberto Agnelli" is the historical museum of the Piaggio Group
D. CASTELFALFI – THE 800 YEARS OLD VILLAGE
• The town is known for its original and relaxed way of life
• One of the most challenging golf courses of Italy is in Castelfalfi
• The wine "Bianco di Pitigliano" is also widely known
