Winter Fashion, part 2Edgey outdoor birmingham set

Well dear reader an old guy in a beard who wears the same out of style red outfit; who would never consider jewelled Roberto Cavalli bangles or to hop down the chimney in this sea-sons Kurt Geiger emerald sandals may not be your best bet. So, ol’ Nick is out of the question but have no fear my fashion friends as I have the answer for you. The key to looking sizzling in this snowy season is in the pages and stores of the finest artists in retail world, and so for you my fellow fashion fanatics I have done the hard work for you. You will find a guide to what’s hot for a sparkling Christmas in Birmingham. So slip off your Santa hat and slide on a pair of Topshop wedges, warm up your credit card because the Bullring has the accessories, shoes and dresses for you. So, my jems this season’s colour palette is just that; jewel tones are the way forward and Emerald shades are the shining ahead. The masters of the jewels are that of Diane von Furstenberg and Mulberry who has hit the cat walks rocking the green seen. Do not fret dear reader if you

can’t afford the high life you don’t have to look like the jolly green giant to wear emerald on a budget. Pop into H & M where the tops are a steal at £12.99 and the colours are to die for and if you’re fancying something fancier Zara has the maxi Skirt for you, crunching your credit card at £39.99. Emerald flatters everyone whether you’re a beautiful blonde, a brilliant brunette, or a red hot red-head you’ll rock this colour and be turning heads down New Street. If green is not your scene, shine and sparkle in hot metals and if you’re lucky enough to afford Birger et Mikkelseh a must have is their new sequined leggings coming in at a whopping £225 and if you can’t af-ford to even stand near them, they at least ought to be admired. And once you’ve been dazzled into a se-quin dream, head for Miss Selfridge’s where you’ll be swung into a heaven of gold sparkle, short at the front and long at the back you will most definitely be the belle of the ball in this goddess of a dress and at £65 you’ll be breaking hearts this Christ-mas time.

This year brought to us by men’s style icon George Lamb

and X Factor stylist and Britain’s Next Top Model judge Grace Woodward. Other celebrities that at-tended were some of the cast of Hollyoaks, TOWIE and pop acts Kimberly Wyatt and Alexandra Burke.

The event displayed some of the hottest high street looks on the catwalk, and was the debut of recent fashion graduates final gar-ments, other catwalks included the style show in the fashion theatre which was a combination of dance, catwalk and

fashion all wrapped up in a clever story of a night in a department store.

Also at the clothes show there were hundreds of boutiques and shops with fantastic offers making it a fantastic opportunity to do your christmas shopping or even by a few bargains for yourself! There was something for everyone including popular brand such as the successful alternative brand Drop Dead to clubbers favour-ite, Lipsy London.

then you’ll love this sea-son’s leather and lace in heavy monochromatic black. Think Emilio Pucci and Roberto Cavalli which has translated into the high street stocks of Republic who have a range of zip back lace tops in different col-ours punching your purse at £22.99. Or if you’re feeling dressy, Forever 21 have the perfect laced up maxi dress coming in at £22.75. So, from lunch date to dinner date the winter blues won’t be hitting you day or night. And in the festive months learn from the winter pro’s and do as those Arctic Monkeys and ‘Get on your dancing shoes on’ and with this seasons foot stompers you’ll have every incentive to accept every Christmas invitation going. While one can dream about

YSL’s, Rupert Sanderson’s and Ipilya’s fabulous shoes the credit crunch may have you favouring the still ever so fabulous Miss Selfridges embellished wedges at £85 and if that’s still a pinch too much then New Look will have you cruising the crowds in their skyscrap-er’s setting you back just £24.99 for a shimmering snake skin pair. So there we have it, “mes amis dans l’amour avec le monde de la mode” or in plain English my friends in love with the fashion world, there is no need to be wish-ing on a father of Christmas to look fabulous this year at any price. After telling Santa to stuff it, the Bullring in Birmingham is the place to get your shopping done. And one last piece of advice, don’t forget to accessorise.
