QUALIFICATION STATEMENT

ADAM K. OBEID

I have been a proud resident of Pinecrest since moving into the community with my family in

2009. My wife and I have been married for seventeen years, and together we have two beautiful

children that we are raising in our great community.

I graduated with honors from Occidental College and received a Bachelors degree after double

majoring in History and Philosophy. I then went on to earn my Juris Doctorate degree from

Western State University College of Law. After conquering the bar exam, I was admitted to

practice law in the State of California, and, I am currently licensed to practice law before all of

the courts of the State of California, and, before the United States District Courts for the Central,

Southern, and Eastern Districts of California, and, before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal.

As an attorney, I have extensive experience representing individuals, small businesses, and large

corporate interests in matters pertaining to civil litigation, consumer disputes, employment law

and litigation, alternate dispute resolution, administrative law, and contract/transaction concerns.

In fact, I have successfully litigated cases in state and federal court, before the Trademark Trial

and Appeals Board, and, I have spearheaded appeals before California’s Fourth Appellate

District resulting in a published opinion and the creation of new legal precedent in the State of

California. In addition to representing my clients in litigation, I am also well-versed in

transactional work including contract drafting and interpretation, document review, preparation

of opinion letters, and insurance coverage review.

Between 2015—2017, I was an attorney at the law firm of Hickey & Petchul, LLP, and later,

Hickey & Associates, P.C. Each of those firms’ focused on HOA law and collectively provided

representation for over 200 HOA’s in Southern California. I have personally represented some

of the largest HOA’s in Orange County and I have extensive experience in HOA related matters.

Suffice it to say, I am well versed in the Davis-Stirling Act, CC&R review, and all matters

related to HOA affairs.

My experience in representing HOA’s has resulted in the following realizations and insights:

transparency and communication are the two keys necessary to have a happy and healthy

community. People need to know that their Board of Directors (i.e. their neighbors) have their

best interests at heart, share their goals, and take action for the best interests of the community as

a whole.

I have decided to run for a position on our Board because I feel the frustration within our

community, I understand how discouraged many of us feel, and I know that together we can

effectuate change to restore Pinecrest to its fullest potential.
