Our Vision….A vibrant community inspired and united to share its gifts to develop, nurture, and sustain quality of living for all.

Thank you for supporting United Way of Winneshiek County

We live in a beautiful community where everyone prospers, right? Unfortunately, that isn’t true. Winneshiek County may be one of the most beautiful areas of Iowa, where many people live well, but we still have neighbors who aren’t sure they’ll be able to put food on the table for supper. Some parents don’t know how they will get their children into after-school activities such as swimming lessons and park and rec programs. Others need help getting children into preschool to give them a solid preparation for their school years. Many local families provide health care for each other and sometimes need a break from tending to their elderly or ill. And many elderly residents need help paying for healthy food choices, even though those options can be found right at the local farmers’ market. The warm sunny days of summer help us all forget the long, bitterly cold days of winter. We may want to forget the high heating bills we paid this last winter. Others here in Winneshiek County didn’t have the money to pay for heat and wondered how they could get help when wind chills were 20–30 degrees below zero for weeks at a time. With a donation to the United Way of Winneshiek County, you can help fulfill these needs and others right here in Winneshiek County. We support 18 local non-profit agencies that help your neighbors, your friends, and your relatives. While we are a part of the national program, our local board is all-volunteer. We live and work right here, helping make the communities of Winneshiek County successful. But we can’t do this without your support. No gift is too small or too big. Help us make this a truly beautiful community where everyone can get the help they need to succeed.
