WHAT IS NAPA GREEN? Napa Green is a comprehensive environmental certification program for vineyards and wineries in the Napa Valley. This voluntary program is focused on independently certified, environmentally sound farming and production methods that meet and exceed more than twenty local, state and federal best practices. Napa Valley vintners and growers develop farm-specific plans tailored to

protect and enhance the ecological quality of the region, or create production facility programs that reduce energy and water use, waste and pollution.

Pine Ridge Vineyards and Napa Green

As of August 2015, Pine Ridge Vineyards is a Napa Green Certified WineryPine Ridge has always embraced sustainable practices, and we sought Napa Green certification to reinforce our commitment as responsible stewards of the land. Our holistic sustainability

program emphasizes recycling, composting and efficiency, diverting 89 percent of our materials away from landfills. We separately recapture and repurpose rainwater and wastewater, insulate all cellar tanks and glycol lines, and utilize LED bulbs everywhere possible. A multidisciplinary in-house “Green Team” meets regularly to monitor and improve our practices, ensuring long-term viability of our business so that we can continue to create complex, elegant wines for years to come.

Napa Green Certified LandAll our estate vineyards are Napa Green Certified Land, with a fully customized conservation program for each site, to encourage and protect biodiversity. Our Fish Friendly Farming practices preserve wildlife habitats, attract beneficial

insects and protect local watersheds from pollution. We diligently make efforts to retain soils and reduce erosion through use of straw wattles, grass seed and ground cover. All loading areas are contained within specially designed areas to avoid harmful inputs and runoffs. Canopy management helps reduce diseases, and weather stations at some vineyards allow more efficient irrigation practices.

LabelingWe are proud of our participation in this program and support public awareness of environmental issues. Our back labels will bear the Napa Green Certified Winery logo and production statement.
