Pigna Mon Amour Artists and creatives to redevelop the neglected historical neighbourhood of Sanremo Project author or developer: Cittadellarte, association Pigna Mon Amour Where: IT / Italy / 337 Website: unidee2012.wordpress.com/sanremo/unidee-in-la-pigna-c ontext/ Since 2010, Cittadellarte has started a complex project with the association Pigna Mon Amour, whose objective is to contribute to a challenging process of urban transformation centered around the historical neighbourhood, Pigna, but addressed to the whole city of Sanremo. It is an organization aiming at regaining ownership of the urban space and of a collective identity. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 Cittadellarte brought groups of young artists and creative professionals from all around the world (of over 40 nationalities) who lived the neighbourhood (as guests of the association Pigna Mon Amour) participating in the actions taken to reclaim and redevelop the area, led by the association in collaboration with the Municipality and several other civil organizations. Numerous events were realized on site during the collaboration, and the project was subsequently presented in prestigious venues like the MAXXI Museo di Arte Contemporanea in Rome and the Louvre in Paris, where it was video documented; it also triggered further collaborations like, for example, a cooperation with the Educational Department of the Castello di Rivoli Museo di Arte Contemporanea, also partner in the development of the current project.
