SUMMER HAPPENINGS SUMMER PUZZLE PALOOZA!

Puzzles challenge your dexterity, spatial reasoning, and logic.

Nothing teaches you to focus and concentrate on a task like

finding the right piece to go into the puzzle! And … puzzles are

just plain fun! Beat the heat, socialize and exercise your brain

with our SUMMER PUZZLE PALOOZA! Join us as we take

on the challenge of Ravensburger’s magnificent 9,000-piece

Underwater Paradise puzzle. The fun continues until the jigsaw

puzzle is completed. You may participate for as much or as

little time as you wish. Hope to see you there!

CLUB NEWS LIONS CLUB The Lions are still dormant but will resume their regular meeting schedule in October. At that time, the Lions will meet for breakfast at TOAST Café on the first & third Tuesday of the month at 8:30AM. It is never too early to start cleaning out your closets and drawers and get ready to donate stuff to the Lions, or rent a table of your own, at our annual Fall Swap Meet scheduled for Saturday, November 4th, 2017. Mark your calendars for the Americana Dance on November 19th, the Pancake Breakfast on January 8th, and the BBQ on February 19th. Plan to be at our 4th of July potluck to be held at 4PM in the MPR. All are welcome. Please continue to recycle over the summer months. Did you know that City of Surprise’s Recycle Program brings in NOTHING financially to the city? It sends all of its recycle to the City of Glendale’s recycle station. In exchange, Surprise does not have to add to their garbage landfill. However, when you donate to the LIONS RECYCLE CENTER in the Main Parking Lot, all money raised from recycling goes for various projects in Sun Village, such as maintaining all the American flags in the Village. So, please keep recycling newspapers, paper, cardboard, phone books, aluminum cans and shredded paper in our LIONS RECYCLE CENTER. Eyeglasses and cases, hearing aids, and cellphones can also be recycled in the Service Center as well as the Recycle Center. Let’s make CASH from stuff. We appreciate all your support and look forward to another successful year. See you when we resume our activity in the Fall!

LADIES GOLF The Sun Village Ladies Golf continues through heat, wind, and rain! The 9's and 18's are playing together as there aren't very many still here. They start at 6:30 a.m. and will have room for play even if you haven't signed up. The Palm Valley group is also in full swing and welcomes all players. Call Betty Tolmie if interested. Soon the snowbirds will begin their migration south and things will pick up, and you can brag about surviving an Arizona summer with temps at 122! ‘Til then, play hard, stay hydrated and find shade whenever possible! Our monthly meetings are held the first Thursday of each month in the MPR at 1 p.m. November thru April.

MEN’S GOLF CLUB You can join our Men’s Club for an annual fee of $30. This membership allows you to compete with the club members on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Have questions or want information about the club, please contact club President, Paul Bartlett at 509-842-4130.

PICKLEBALL Monday - Friday from 8am-2pm – organized play/ladder play. Information is available at the courts. For lessons, see signup sheet at the courts.

Come out for couples Pickleball on Saturdays starting at 11am. The club has paddles and balls for you to use. Come and play!
