Zondereinde is an established platinum group metal (PGM) mine in the Limpopo province which produces some 300 000 PGM ounces annually. The Zondereinde mine is the home of pioneering technology and innovation both in the underground workings and at its world-class metallurgical infrastructure. Zondereinde is situated some 40km from Thabazimbi, in close proximity to the naturally scenic Pilanesberg and Waterberg reserve.

Systems TechnicianMinimum requirements: • N5/T2 qualification or equivalent in Instrumentation and Control • Valid Section 13 Mechanician trade • At least 5 years’ experience preferably on a mine or in a plant process environment • Knowledge of configuring DCS and PLC control systems • Knowledge of computer and industrial networking • Valid Red Ticket.

Key performance areas: • Perform day-to-day maintenance and configuration on DCS and PLC control systems • Find faults on process control and instrumentation • Comply with the Mine’s Health and Safety Programme • Report to the Senior Technician on a daily basis. (Ref. ZEMET1/14)

This 2.13.1 appointment in terms of the MHSA is responsible for providing a dedicated engineering service to the production area. This means you’ll support overall operational management, effectively manage subordinates and support the achievement of the business plan through operational performance. The process must remain operational and optimised as part of the value chain. You will also be tasked with administration of management and control systems and will be involved in resource planning, logistics processes and the management of planned maintenance.
