Kirstin Hams has been specialising in Marketing for the past 10 years, with the last 3 being specific to companion animals - puppies. With a Bachelor of business specific to Marketing from Monash University in Caulfield, Kirstin has marketing expertise from Telstra Business in Melbourne, ASIC (the Australian Securities and Investments Commission) and most recently with Banksia Park Puppies. She has specific expertise in social media,content creation, website creation, internal marketing, segment marketing and direct marketing. She has a huge interest in Social Media Marketing and how you can make customers into a family thereby creating what all businesses want – ongoing engagement. Working with companion animals brings many obstacles and Kirstin has a wealth of specific expertise in this area, along with a passion for marketing and making your voice heard.

Gavin Biggs and his design team have over 30 years of design and animal housing experience. For over a decade Gavin has been designing and installing state of the art animal housing facilities around Australia and South East Asia. He has built a reputation of excellence and support, and regularly consults with Government bodies. This is your opportunity to learn from Gavin’s extensive experience, continuous research and travels to stay abreast of the latest innovations in design and business models.

Dr. Armina Magalakis graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2011 and started her veterinary career in small animal practice in north east Melbourne. After 6 months in practice Mina was keen for a challenge and began her Masters of Veterinary Studies by correspondence through the Murdoch University School of Veterinary Science. After being in practice for three and a half years and completing her Master’s degree in 2015, Mina was keen to venture down a new path into industry veterinary work. Her role with Royal Canin has allowed her to apply a lot of her knowledge & experience from general practice and her studies.Brett Melke is the only full time lawyer working exclusively in animal law in Australia. Brett Melke had a background as a general legal practitioner for 14 years before commencing his own business in animal law in 2006. Whilst he primarily deals with issues relating to dogs, a significant portion of his work relates to cats, birds and farming animals. Issues range very widely from agreements and disputes between breeders and pet owners, compliance issues relating to establishments involved with animals to attacks by dogs, prosecution work relating to establishments involving animals, dangerous/menacing dog declarations, dog destruction orders, veterinary negligence, personal injury issues arising from damage caused by animals, insurance and contractual issues arising from animal incidents. Brett Melke has a unique position in animal law in that he both defends and prosecutes matters involving animals. This provides him with unique insight into how both sides of the disputes work. Brett Melke is married, with two children and a black Labrador. Interests include songwriting, music, hiking and travel.

Claire Moore has been part of Employsure since August 2014 in the role of Employment Relations Consultant. Following the completion of a Bachelor of Human Resources and Employment Relations at Griffith University, she began her career at the United Firefighters Union QLD as an Industrial Relations Officer. Claire’s extensive experience continued, securing a remote fly-in, fly- out, human resource generalist role with Leighton Contractors, working on a major civil construction project. In this role she was responsible for managing the site’s human resources function focusing on industrial relations, learning and development, training, recruitment and performance management. Subsequently, she transitioned to a position within aged care, looking after workplace relations and human resources policies, while managing workplace investigations. Claire’s passion lies in supporting our clients, understanding requirements and finding the most appropriate solutions across varied industries.

Deborah Render has over 30 years’ experience in the pet industry. She is a qualified Veterinary Nurse and after working in several practices in the UK, joined a multi-national small animal nutrition company. In her role as Veterinary Business Manager she developed an interest in Customer Service & Communication, Sales & Marketing and staff training. In 1999 Deb moved to Australia, where she took up a role as practice manager of a group of practices in South-East Queensland. Deb is passionate about providing outstanding customer service and helping others to do the same. In 2014 she joined the Crampton Consulting Group and has been delivering face to face and online Customer Service training seminars to both the veterinary and pet industry.

Mark McPherson has more than 40 years’ experience and he’s proud of it. He’s been a team member, a team leader, a been a Tourist Guide, Science Teacher, Lecturer (Health Education and Behaviour Management), Senior Education Officer (TAFE Drug and Alcohol Education Program and NSW Board of Studies), Senior Health Promotion Officer, HIV/AIDS and Sexual Health Coordinator and Manager of Professional Development (NSW Health), and Team Leader (Drug Programs Coordination Unit, NSW NSW Police). He‘s been independent program evaluator, researcher,instructional designer and educator. These days, Mark concentrates on helping business owners, managers and employees at all levels of all organisations, Master Tough Conversations, Deal with Difficult People and Create Workplaces where People Work Together in Harmony. Mark hasformal qualifications in science, health, education and psychology – MEd, BSc, GradDipEd, GradDipHealth, GradDipPsych & DipHypn.
