Founded April 9th, 1990 at the University of Iowa, Iowa City Iowa.

PI GAMMA CHAPTER In 2004, twelve women gathered at the Center for

Black Culture and Learning at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. They formed an interest groups in hopes of establishing an interest group for Sigma Lambda Gamma Nat. Sorority, Inc.

On September, 2004 Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc. recognized Una Voz as a colony. The remaining seven women would later become the members of the founding line.

On March 3rd, 2007, after 3 long years, the Persevering Pi Gamma Chapter of Miami University was formed.
