Explain or discuss the physiologic mechanism of the case from a mutational perspective. 2. Explain or discuss the general mechanism of action of the Complement Cascade. 3. Explain how this acquired mutation causes the associated symptoms. Case 1: Patient with Pallor. A 35-year old female, single, Davao City resident complained recently upon urination of having on and off bright red-colored urine, usually at night or dawn for the past couple of years. No consultation was done until this time. A few months prior to consultation, patient was noted to be pale and complained of easy fatigability, dimming of vision on standing up and shortness of breath. Patient was advised admission for further investigation to include blood transfusion. The working diagnosis is Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria.
