• They work under the supervision of a physical therapist. • Physical therapist assistants help patients to relieve their pain and
increase their strength and mobility. • A PTA will help critically injured individuals regain their physical
capabilities or they may work with individuals who are suffering from long-term conditions
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High school education • Associates degree in Physical
Therapy

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Follow plans created by PTs that involve stretching, strength training, exercises and physical manipulation to help people recover.
• Track patient progress and report to the physical therapist
• In charge of the treatment area, making sure that it is clean, neat, and ready for each patient.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• PTA’s work in a variety of settings, such as :
• Outpatient physical therapy clinics
• Skilled nursing facilities / Hospitals
• Rehabilitation centers• Schools• Sports and fitness facilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Most PTA’s generally work Monday through Friday (Hours/days may very)
• Physically Demanding • Physical therapist assistants may be required to move heavy
