They can avail more customization options for the click-to-run setup. The risks while installing updates have been minimized as the version comes with general bug fixes and modern security options.

• Achieving “inbox zero”

Streamlining your inbox is something even the most efficient and productive of usstruggle with. Microsoft has made Outlook the program of choice for you to get asclose as you can to “inbox zero” by introducing functionality called Clutter. This newfeature scans your inbox and moves what it deems to be the less important emailsto a new folder (called Clutter)..

• Data Loss Prevention

People who constantly suffer from the fear of any data loss, here is a good news for them,the Windows 2016 now features the same Data Loss Prevention for Word, PowerPointand Excel as previously it was found in Outlook only. Moreover, saving up your importantdocuments containing some confidential information or any other crucial data comes withwarnings and tips. The Office 16 will warn you right away if you plan to save your files inwrong or unsafe place.

• OneDrive Redirection

Though this has been available in SharePoint 2013 since SP1, with SharePoint 2016you can redirect your My Sites to your Office 365 subscription’s OneDrive forBusiness host. In other words, if a user clicks on OneDrive, he'll be redirected to hisOffice 365 My Site and no longer to his On-Premises.

• Sites you follow in one place

Now users can click on “Follow” both On-Premises and on their Office 365 and seethem all in one place under the “Sites” app in the App Launcher.The wizard to configure either of the simple scenarios above work very well, as long as you follow the requirements.

• Hybrid Cloud Search

This is what a lot of us have been waiting for, a unified Search experience. Putsimply, the Office 365 Search will take your On-Premises SharePoint Search Indexso that it can give you results from both for the same query.You should know that you'll have to use the Office 365 Search for this to work. If SharePoint 2016 On-Premises users query against their On-Premises Search service, it'll continue to only give them local results only.However, once available, this will allow users to fully embrace Experiences like Delve in Office 365 and more to come in the future.

• Increased File Size for uploads

Though I still wouldn’t recommend storing large files in SharePoint, youcan now go way beyond the previous 2GB limit for files. Though there's noreal limit, Microsoft has strongly recommended it stays at 10GB.Otherwise, end users will very likely get disconnected or get a time outwhile uploading large files.

• Fast Site Creation

By using a template, they're now able to create Site Collections in 1second. This compares well to SharePoint 2013 that takes up almost over40 seconds sometimes. This will require a level of configuration withPowerShell to set up.

• Zero Downtime Patching

Now this will surely please many of you managing the SharePoint servers,the size and number of the packages are immensely reduced. They’ve alsoremoved the downtime previously required to update SharePoint servers.

Based on Office 365 learnings, we’ve already shipped hundreds of reliability and performance fixes and enhancements to Exchange 2013 customers via Cumulative Updates. Exchange 2016 includes all of those enhancements, of course, but it goes further

• Improved reliability

The architecture of Exchange 2016 is an evolution of what was delivered in Exchange 2013, reflecting the best practices of the Exchange Preferred Architecture, and mirroring the way we deploy Exchange in Office 365. The Client Access and Mailbox server roles have been combined, providing a standard building block for building your Exchange environment.

• New Outlook web experience

As part of our continuing effort to provide users with a first class web experience, we’ve made significant updates to Outlook Web App, which will be known as “Outlook on the web” going forward. New features include: Sweep, Pin, Undo, inline reply, ability to propose new time for meeting invites, a new single-line inbox view, improved HTML rendering, better formatting controls, ability to paste inline images, new themes, and emoji's, to name a few. We’ve also made numerous performance improvements and enhanced the mobile browse experience on phones and tablets.

• Greater extensibility

The Add-In model for Outlook and Outlook on the web, which allows developers to build features right into the user's Outlook experience, continues to get more and more robust. Add-ins can now integrate with UI components in new ways: as highlighted text in the body of a message or meeting, in the right-hand task pane when composing or reading a message or meeting, and as a button or a dropdown option in the Outlook ribbon.

• Faster and more intuitive search

As the quantity of email in people’s inboxes continues to grow, it’s essential for them to search through all that email in faster and easier ways. By studying real-world data about how people search and analysing the speed at which results are returned, we’ve implemented changes to the search architecture and user interface of Office 365, which are now coming on-premises.

• Hybrid improvements

Hybrid capabilities allow you to extend your Exchange deployment to the cloud, for example to enable a smooth transition or accommodate mergers and acquisitions. We’re making the hybrid configuration wizard cloud-based, which makes it easier for us to keep it up to date with changes in Office 365.
