Phrasal verbs are expressions

also called multi-word verbs or two-part verbs

This combine verbs and prepositions to make new

verbs.

The meanings of some phrasal verbs can be

understood by adding together the meanings of

the separate parts:

New ones are formed all the time as they are a

flexible way of creating new terms.

Being extremely difficult to provide an accurate

synonym for certain phrasal verbs, which may be

often replaced by one word of similar meaning.
